I guess, the BDO is my best bet then.
With regards to THE CALL, has anyone received any proper documentation in the post or via email afterwards as proof of appointment.
Hi, I can confirm that EOs (band Cs) all get the same pay, regardless of role. In Inner London it's £23940. Also, on late night/ Saturday hours, they are not being implemented yet but if JCPs decide they need to extend hours (largely because of office space constraits) those of us on these new extended hours contracts will be doing them, because they are part of our conditioned hours and we won't have to be paid time and a half. Fair enough, really, and of course you're still conditioned to 36 hours a week so it means a day off midweek or credited flexi to take off at some point in the future.
I got a letter before I took up the post. It wasn't the contract, just the letter of confirmation. But I think it's a bit hit and miss. Don't worry if you don't.
Just done the first day of my induction training. All very useful and illuminating.:idea:0 -

Yeah. Started last Monday, doing 2 days of induction training this week, plus various other stuff including e-learning modules, which is all to come over the next few weeks. I don't know whether it's the same for those who don't do public-facing jobs
I'm enjoying it so far...lots of shadowing! I think at EO level you're expected to have a good knowledge of everything that goes on. Obviously, though, not immediately! It's all very civilised because they understand it takes time to pick stuff up and give you plenty of learning opportunities.:idea:0 -
Anyone at BDO?
I start in sept and have been told to report at 9am, asked if this was just for training hours? Told her I wanted to start at 9.30am as childcare and they have changed the buses since i applied, told I would have to take it up when i got there.
I did ask at interview and was told it was `super flexi` so no set start or finish times. Told her stopping late would not be a problem as hubbie with pick kids up from school.
Worried now!0 -

NOT at a BDO, i'm at JCP, however thought i would share my experience with you.
I worried like crazy about my start time due to childcare issues once the school term starts up again. Everyone assured me that the DWP are very good when it comes to caring responsibilities. Finally plucked up the courage to ask my manager about starting at 9.30- as hrs had not yet been discussed 3 wks into the job!- and he was absolutely fine about it. No big explanation needed, no apparent inconvenience caused. phew!
I imagine its the same throughout the DWP so shouldn't be a problem, you just have to make up the time by taking a shorter lunch break or staying laterOne day I will be a [STRIKE]respectable[/STRIKE] Civil Servant.Until then, I will be a secret MSE poster :shhh:0 -
6th july in sheffield. ive just called to chase it up irc60535 for EO job and they said letters were sent yesterday so should hear today hopefully this week. hope thats helpful to you.
i also had AO interview in sheffield on 29th july but not due to hear from that for another couple of weeks so you may be in same boat there trixxi?
Hi Katie, I also had an AO interview in Sheffield on the 28th, I was told by the interviewer I would hear in up to15 days, which is tomorrow. So is it likely to be another two weeks? I'm desperate to hear, I'm going crazy in my current job! :eek:0 -
Hi i used to work in BDO and we were all on flexi time, so basically you coul start work anytime from 7:30 while 9:30 and finish anytime from 3:30 to 5:00 as lone as you did the rquired hours for the week of course so they were pretty flexible. training hours were diff though, you do have set times then!0
