I haven't been waiting all that long really. My successful leter was dated 18th March.

I'm also currently in a job, so I'm just waiting to see if I can get confirmation of a start date soon, so I get sort my redundancy out.

Good luck, Sue. I'm sure you'll have a great time.

I feel like screaming!!!!! They've had everything they needed, references, crb they even bluddy contacted my work only for them to tell me that i'm on a waiting list! So now my work now knows i am looking for alternative employment. I work in retail !!!!!!, jobs are few and far between and now when redundancies come up i'm guna be top of the list! How can they contact my work if they don't have a job for me?! this is mental. Never known anything like it

Loretta-claire I was wondering if you had to phone DWP to be provided with the info that your on a waiting list or did they tell you by post? I have the feeling the same things gonna happen to me, have been waiting nearly 6 weeks now since my successful letter and am still none the wiser if I have a job or not!

The whole process seems to be more than a bit random which for what is a government department is VERY worrying! The closing date for the AO position I applied for was the 19th Dec 08! I have been through the tests, interview, had the successful letter (with no mention of a waiting list) and have done the forms for and received back my CRB check.......and have heard nothing else! They have contacted my employer, the only reason I know this is because HR had to get my permission to give out the information the DWP needed. Like someone else who has posted my employer now knows I am intending to leave, I have heard absolutely NOTHING from the DWP about what is happening, so I am nearly 4 months down the line and still not really any further forward!!
Debt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!
:jDEBT FREE:j January 2012, took longer but I got there, all by myself, through sheer hard work and pride!

I guess it woulds help if communication was better!

After being put on a waiting list for 6 weeks, I finally received a brown envelope today and it was letter stating they are now carrying out pre-recruitment checks and enclosed were the Disclosure Scotland Application Forms

I have to fill them in now and let my references know!

Few questions (if anyone can answer them - would be very much appreciated)

    1) Does this mean I have a job?
    2) How long do the checks take?
    3) Should I elect to have the CRB checks sent to me or Employee Shared Services (DWP)??

    Thank you in advance

    Hi

I wasn't put on a waiting list, but was sent the same info as you after I was 'successful'. I don't think this means you have the job, you're still on a waiting list I presume as they now have to carry out background checks. This can take bloomin' ages.

My CRB took about two weeks and I sent it to Employee Shared Services. A copy was sent to me though. I think DWP filled in the section of the CRB where it had to be sent to.

    Good luck!

i read it as saying yes you are successful i.e not on a waiting list and for the job i applied for was told there were 16 positions so i assumed i was one of the first 16 dependent on ok refs and a crb check. having read a lot of other posts though starting to doubt everything!

i sent my disclosure scotland form back on 5th mar to newcastle and the form was returned to dwp on tues 24th so with posting aprrox 2 wks to process.

get the form sent back to dwp newcastle to address supplied - apparently speeds things up but i'm still waiting. personally i would'nt jump for joy and tell people you have new job just yet - 5 weeks of people asking do you have a start date yet?? is wearing thin.

    hope that helps
