Hello there thought i would let you know my little story with the DWP

03/05/09 Interview
03/06/09 Waiting list letter
10/06/09 Under going pre-recruitment checks letter (this is where the fun begins :rotfl:)
Waited 5 weeks hadnt heard a thing so phoned Newcastle who said they hadnt had the CRB checks back
E-mailed Disclosure Scotland (after seeing a post on here) who told me that payment hadnt been confirmed  looks like whoever sent my form off to them hadnt ticked a box so my application had been suspended for 5 weeks !

PHONE CALL TODAY start the 10th Aug at my local jc !! 18 month contract and full-time .
Have been unemployed for 13 months so just happy to get my brain back in gear.
Good luck to all still waiting..i will let you know how things go :j

Very well done popo. :beer::beer:
It's great to get back to work after a period of unemployment.

Good luck when you start on the 10th :D.

its unfair that some people applied In jan and are starting at the same time as people applied in May which is 4 months gap...............????
Congratulations :j, I was wondering why this was the case (4 months gap...............????etc), perhaps they were recruiting in anticipation of possible openings or did not generate the required response. Is your contract for 12months or 18 months and are you doing F/T hours and which JCP office, Plaistow, Eastham, Stratford.

For IRC 61298, according to the job advert literacy/numeracy tests are taking place from 20/07 - 31/07, with interviews from 03/08 - 11/08.

Have you attended for the literacy/numeracy tests yet, if so, when was it and what location did you go to.

yes you can

I've been unemployed and on JSA since January so that was a pretty big question in my mind.

I start in August 3rd and can get half my montly salary by the 15th. The official info I got when I emailed the HR director was:

Mid-Monthly Advance to New Entrants:
When first appointed to a salaried post, new entrant employees may apply for a mid-monthly advance of net monthly salary for a maximum of six months. You can claim up to six advances within 12 months of starting. Payment will be made to your usual bank/building society account by the
15th of the month. The amount available reduces as follows:
Advance (months)
Advance of net monthly salary
1 to 3
up to one half (maximum)
4 to 5
up to one third (maximum)
6
up to one quarter (maximum).

Thanks V.much. Wopnderful news

I got a call from Manpower about a week ago, for 2198. I am yet to receive a call for 2 other exercises that I applied for, I guess I will give them a call tomorrow.

Why did you apply for Abeerdeen and Newcastle if you live in London

Edit: so, am I correct in saying you have applied for 30 excercises and only recived a reply for 4 of them ?
