DEPARTMENT OF WORK and PENSIONS Formerly Benefits Agency
Local Office:- Vine House, Farrier St, Worcester WR1 3EL Tel. 01905 ********

that's the one, maybe it carries a different name but someone walked me around it today and there were several sections one call centre for jobseekers 1 for other benefits then there were several rooms for people processing different types of benefit including some kind of employment benefit or something which apparently went live in october last year. It was a pretty big place with approx 250 staff according to the guy walking me around.

Tried to find out today which position I was on the waiting list - but was told as all the results for this position are not in yet they couldnt tell me! Im thinking everyone has been put on the list for this vacancy.

Hi. I take it you mean 60076? I called about it today. Turns out they sent successful letters and simply put everyone on the waiting list while doing background checks. There are 362 people on that list and as of today around 4:49 they had done checks on 154. She said to give it up to 6 weeks. She has no idea how many people are wanted or when they are to start. However, she said it appears the vacancies cover a large area so the length of the list should not be cause for concern, especially since some people do not make it through the checks. So as the checks get carried out, a merit list is drawn up.

Oh... I have not been checked yet. My interview was 29 June which is probably one of the last.

I hope that helps.
I can do all things through him who gives me strength....:A

Application date: 26th May 2009
Online Assessment: June 2009
Interview: 25th June 2009

I hope this helps, this post is for EO position and i have been based in a jobcentre in east london, i am just waiting for the email confirmation of my contract details etc. The working hours are 36 hours a week excluding lunch and from what i have been told the JCP is not open on a saturday, you are only required to go in if there is any paperwork that needs to be completed. However i'm not sure exactly. Also the training is not 8months as someone suggested and i have been told it is only 2days.

Hope this help xx

Does anyone know of a contact number for general queries. I want to ask about two IRC exercises that I applied for, it has been almost 3 weeks for both of them and I am yet to hear anything about an interview date.

yes you can

I've been unemployed and on JSA since January so that was a pretty big question in my mind.

I start in August 3rd and can get half my montly salary by the 15th. The official info I got when I emailed the HR director was:

Mid-Monthly Advance to New Entrants:
When first appointed to a salaried post, new entrant employees may apply for a mid-monthly advance of net monthly salary for a maximum of six months. You can claim up to six advances within 12 months of starting. Payment will be made to your usual bank/building society account by the 15th of the month. The amount available reduces as follows:
Advance (months)
Advance of net monthly salary
1 to 3
up to one half (maximum)
4 to 5
up to one third (maximum)
