DWP employment waiting list
Comments

I tried Erdington yesterday as it is the main office in the region but it rang out. I rang Newcastle again and was told that basically the vacancy holders (must be more than one?) in the Birmingham area were in a meeting yesterday receiving some harsh words from their manager as there were loads of people whose checks were cleared but were still waiting and so i should definitely be hearing asap. Again whether this is true or not?
So anyone still waiting for EO in Birmingham from the March/April interviews, we should be hearing soon (or not :rotfl: )
That doesn't bode well - i received my success letter for AO position in the Birmingham area, had interview 26/06 (irc60076) - i been put on a 12 months waiting list - anyone else waiting for Birmingham area? Judging from posts on here, it looks like a long slog of waiting!0 -
Just a bit of advice for some - DON'T apply for any 2 IRC jobs that are full and part-time at the same place, you may get offered the part-time one thinking your still on the list for the full-time one and when your top of the list for that, you find out that you cant actually go for the full-time one !!! Hi neilbaddiel,
That sounds a bit of a nightmare! But what do you mean when you say 'you can't actually go for the full-time one'? Is there a rule somewhere that prevents you from doing that?0 -

Yep! - 3 people started with me EO posts all got told the same don't worry you can take the fulltime once it comes up, and yeah there's a rule to prevent us moving - we've all started grievance procedures though0 -
Hello newbie here, even though I have been lurking, and reading the two DWP threads, for over a month.
Did anyone else attend the interviews at Sheffield w/c 13 July?
I applied for IRC 60535 (AO)
Completed the on-line test before the closing date of 1 July
Attended interview 14 July *Shudders at the memory*
I completed all the CRB/Health forms etc prior to being interviewed
I know it is a long drawn out procedure
I am just curious if any-one else attended the interviews that week, and whether or not any feedback has been received0 -
woohooooo:beer:
IRC60076. I too got my success letter today!!! What a relief. Yep it says waiting list for 12 months but I like the fact that they say they are now carrying out pre-recruitment checks. That to me seems like a good sign.
I went to a black-country assessment exercise last week and was told the 60076 people were hopefully to start in August and September depending on branches.
Things might be rolling forward now!!!
So happy!
:j:j:jI can do all things through him who gives me strength....:A0 -

Hi again,
I thought that only applied to existing permanent staff rather than those who have been taken on on a contract basis. At least this is my understanding from looking at the various job descriptions on the DWP website.
I hope you get the hours you want, it would be a shame if you have to go through a grievance procedure though.
Good luck and well done for getting in, regardless of the hours.0 -

It might be quicker for an AO and if its a temporary contract? i know someone who has been offered the AO role pretty quickly as i think they are in more need of AO's than EO's? I could be wrong as obviously i dont work for the dwp but the AO's seem to be getting posted faster than the EO's so far.0
