Had a letter today saying that my checks had been completed and my details have been passed to the business. I'm 14th in the merit list for 20 jobs (they said at interview that it would be 6 people starting at 1st and then drafting the rest in gradually) so god knows how much longer it's gonna be!
Timeline:
13th March: Closing date
Mid April: Tests
Mid May: Interview
28th May: Sucess letter
24th July: Cleared checks
Start date: Fvck knows but Christmas is my guess!
This is for IRC580180 -
EO position IRC 58334 (South London)
Hi has anyone who applied for the above position received a start date yet, and for which Job Centre ?
I have a start date for the 10th August and would be inerested to know if there is any one else due to start on that date.
Cheers

I know it's difficult but you will have to be patient. Then one day out of the blue and when you're least expecting it you will get THE CALL.Most jobcentres are now desperate for staff but it's the logistics of 'housing' everyone since they've closed so many offices down. They need space in the offices to accomodate staff. But THE CALL will come soon.

Thank you.
Bromley was my first choice. At my interview i was asked if i would be able to work untill 6pm on some evenings, but nothing else. I have noticed recently that the positions being advertised are for the hours between 8 till 8 weekdays and 9 till 5 weekends. so I did ring Bromley yesterday to discuss this. They told me that Bromley has no plans to open on Saturdays but that I may be required to work till 8 during the week. I explained that had Saturday been mentioned at the initial application stage I would not have applied for the job, so fingers crossed.0 -

The wait is starting to really annoy me now, been out of work for a few months and I'm losing £150 a month before I even contemplate going out!
The job I've got is a finance administrator post so it's not even demand driven, just waiting on the business to draft people in...0 -

I find this interesting - I was told just "normal" office hours.
Working til 8 would surely be quite cool - that's going to mean mega-flexi days off, no?. (I've often done 8pm nights working for stupid high-pressure software houses for no other benefit than not to get sacked.)0 -

Hey Orb
I think it might be a question of starting at 12pm rather than flexitime. I had the same situation as you travelling hundreds of miles for meetings - early starts and late finishes. It will be nice to just work 37 hours and in a office close to where I live.0 -
I tried Erdington yesterday as it is the main office in the region but it rang out. I rang Newcastle again and was told that basically the vacancy holders (must be more than one?) in the Birmingham area were in a meeting yesterday receiving some harsh words from their manager as there were loads of people whose checks were cleared but were still waiting and so i should definitely be hearing asap. Again whether this is true or not?
So anyone still waiting for EO in Birmingham from the March/April interviews, we should be hearing soon (or not :rotfl: )0
