  • Balham is correct, these are where the Benefit Delivery Centres in London are.

    Balham, Stratford, Hackney and Ilford.

But it wasn't one of the options for the post, it just said Hackney, Stratford and Ilford

Found this thread some time ago when looking for info re DWP Lit/Num tests. Never posted on a forum before so here goes...

    Timescale of events

5 April applied online for A/O role (IRC 58662)
27 May Email to attend DWP Assessment
2 June passed Lit/Num tests & had interview with Capita
10 June successful ltr (no mention of waiting list)
    18 June Lit/Num results
    23 June CRB cert
16 July rang Newcastle was told all checks done should hear in 2 weeks

Sunday 19 July call from DWP offering me job start 7 Sept:j.
Training 8-11 Sept. I enquired about P/T working. Minimum hours are 30 which I am doing. At no stage of the process have I had the option to state my preferred office until I got the call and was offered what would have been my 1st choice. Capita did say at interview they would try & offer area closest to home.

From start to finish 5 months. I can go on holiday in August & not wonder if I have missed The Call & kids go back to school on 7th!

Wonder how many others out there waiting?

Morning :D I am still waiting and my interview was in March!! lol. My successful letter was April 11th and my pre-recruitment checks letter was dated 29th May. I know that i was 26/141 so i am not even very far down the merit list? I have rung Newcastle many times and keep getting told that i will hear within a week, it has been nearly eight weeks since i got my checks letter! lol. I know that after losing my crb at the end of June (Which i was not told about and i had to find out for myself) they received it again from me on Friday July 10th and i phoned to check they had definitely got it again on Monday July 13th. At this point i was told my checks were now definitely cleared and guess what.... i would hear within a week :rotfl:Still waiting.

Hi - I had an interview for AO on the 26th June, however, as yet i have received no letter to say whether i been successful or not - I phoned up dwp yesterday to be told that they are still interviewing people for the post i have applied and that i should wait a fortnight. Today however, i received my crb disclosure which was sent to me by the DWP.

Anyone else been in this situation? do they carry out crb check on everyone regardless if theyve been offered job or not?

Or am i correct in thinking that i will be offered the job however, they can't confirm it till everyone has been interviewed? They havent contacted my current employer for references yet, or even my personal referrences.

Well I managed to get through to dwp this morning, and they said not to read too much into it, they don't know how that has happened and it doesnt necessarily mean I am successful - I was also told that there has been a delay for some reason in processing results for the vacancy (IRC60076).. It's all alittle confusing to be told one day that interviews are still on going and then to be told theres been a mix up somewhere!

This is the same vacancy I'm applying for and wait for this...

...I got an interview tomorrow! That means I'm going as back-up? I don't get this.

Hi there, this is indeed puzzling, but one thought is, perhaps, they need more people. when did you apply? I have applied for EO (IRC60227) London in May; is your IRC No. 60227 and in which area is your interview held? many thanks, this is just to determine whether indeed this is the same position you are going for!

Hi there congratulations:j, enjoy the holiday. I am unsure when to book holidays for (with the children), just incase I miss the call etc.. may I ask you how are your hours divided over the week or is this yet to be confirmed and is 30 hours considered P/T?. Many thanks

Been lurking for a while but thought I would finally post something.
7/02/2009 applied for ao position 1
14/02/2009 completed and passed tests for AO1, no interview?
11/03/2009 completed tests and interview for EO1
17/03/2009 completed tests and interview for AO2
25/03/2009 failed tests for EO2, even though I passed the test for first EO job
24/04/2009 received success letter for EO1
11/05/2009 received success for waiting list AO2 letter
10/07/2009 interview for third AO position
17/07/2009 successful for third Ao position
20/07/2009 offer phone call for AO2

In the end I accepted the position, gave up hope of the EO position.
The whole process is just so confusing, might as well put everybody’s name in a hat and the first one out gets the job.

I have to say I only Googled "DWP recruitment drive" because I was getting frustrated at the lack of info coming back from my numerous applications, tests and interviews. That was yesterday and it brought me to this thread.

Lo and behold about 20 minutes ago I got this

You have been re invited to complete the DWP On Line Assessment, IRC 60529 - BAND B Re invite on line test.

As you should be aware you have recently taken part in an interview for the above exercise. Due to the tight timescales involved this was processed prior to you taking an on line test. In order to progress to the next stage of the recruitment you are now required to complete the on line testing segment of the process. Please find below the email invite.

Your Username is and your Password is

The assessment will take a maximum of 75 minutes to complete. You should make sure you have set aside enough time to complete the test and that you are in a quiet environment where you will not be interrupted for the duration of the test. You will be given full instructions about the test before you begin.

If you require any particular arrangements (for example due to a disability or health problem) to be made in order for you to complete the on-line test, you MUST contact the e-mail address at the end of this message BEFORE accessing the on-line test.

Once you have started the test, you should complete it in one sitting. You should also ensure that you have an internet connection for the duration of the test.

This is for one of the AO posts I got interviewed for.

Does anyone think that I must have got through the interview stage in order to be requested to do this or is it just part of the overall horrific mess they are making of this whole process?

By the way, given that I passed the EO tests you would think they would have the systems in place to cross reference but what the hell - it's only 75 minutes of my time and as I am at home with the kids I can spare it.

This might be relevant to LandslideVictory....

I turtled off to the blob centre plus this morning to sign off and got talking to a lady - the manager in fact - about what I would be likely to be doing (I'll be working in the same one). She said it would be working upstairs as an advisor and dealing with new claims; I'm quite looking forwards to it :)

I'm a bit nonplussed as to how this happened; I only signed on in the first place so I could get two crowns fixed on the NHS - I didn't expect to end up working there :D:D:D

Welcome, I am disheartened to hear your news, were you invited to do the online assessment for this excercise before the interview and any letters regarding your interview result. On this thread someone mentioned that they informed DWP that they had passed EO tests for another excercise and they were told they would go to the next stage, which is the interview.
