anyway congrats
Hi Blacks7000
Firstly let me congratulate you
They gave me a choice of either Ilford or Balham, I didn't even think to question it at the time, they called me on Monday.
When they call back I will ask about it though as the original options were Stratford, Ilford and Hackney so I don't understand how Balham got thrown into the mix0 -
Very weird. Aren't recruitment exercises normally one district only? Was it Newcastle offering you those choices? I wonder if they haven't got Balham somehow confused with Barking.:idea:0

hi mpatel86
i also applied irc60277 west london district, i don't know if they have contacted refs or not yet. giving them time will be calling in the next couple of weeks. if you have an offer of a job and it is good i would take it, god knows how long dwp are going to take. i am still applying for other jobs, as dont hold out too much hope of getting a start date anytime soon. from looking at timelines of other posters average is around 3 to 4 months from application. good luck. if you cant get hold of them via phone try email another poster said if you use the format, first name.last name@dwp.gsi.gov.uk. give it try.
Thanx for the reply. I am not 2 keen on the other job I have. The pay is about 16k so I actually want this EO post. However I dont wanna start the 16k post and then find out that the EO post is ready to start. Its just going to be quite embarassin as I will have to give my notice in within the first few weeks. However, if DWP going to be another few months then I rather be working then sitting at home. I really dont know if I should start this job or not. I had taken my interview in West HAm FC so I aint 2 sure which region I am going to be in. Hopefully in East London as its closer to me.0 -

Balham is correct, these are where the Benefit Delivery Centres in London are.
Balham, Stratford, Hackney and Ilford.0 -
I was interviewed in WHFC, I dunno where I am going to be located. They didnt ask me to give them any prefered location. Hopefully somewhere near WHFC as I live close by. It looks like every1 applying for IRC 60277 are all West London people, I want 2b somewhere like Ilford, Stratford area, cos its close by and I hate Travelling early in the mornin.0

My advice is to do what benefits YOU the most. If you have to hand your notice in soon after starting, then so be it. But you don't owe anybody any favours and they certainly wouldn't put you over their own business needs, so adopt the same mindset.
Besides, it might be quite some time til you start at DWP...:idea:0 -

Ah, right, sorry. I was thinking JCPs. Well that makes more sense.:idea:0 -
I just received a letter for IRC 60369(AO post sussex area) after my interview last week - it states I have been successful and they are awaiting the results of my checks to confirm if they can offer me a position. It doesn't say anything about a waiting list - does this mean that as long as my checks come back ok I have a job???0

Yes. At some indeterminate point in the future, but before the seas have boiled away and the Earth has spiralled into the sun, you will start your new job. All this depends upon whether your forms "get lost" or not.0 -

Hahaha:D Yeah I gather it's a long process - although it's gone quite fast for me so far. I really hope I get this - I have another part time job but the pay is bad and the work conditions could be better...0
