Oh and Gupster, I applied for the same one as you and got the Halesowen branch!! Which is my first choice! I was told i was 26th so i would have been just behind you!!!
congrats, I know a long slog but finally something. West Bromwich was my third choice but still very local to me.
Mommarat - applied orginally for Oldbury but got West Bromwich which is great.
One thing she did say on the phone is that the contract now states that there is a requirement to work 3 lates till 8pm and a Saturday (9-1). She said if you did need to these hours, they would have to give you 4 weeks notice. Also, the woman did say there are different roles under EO and I would find out once I got there what I would be doing.0 -
just wanted to ask for anyone's opinion. During the long wait for the EO position. I applied for an HEO position elsewhere in the Civil Service. If I got invited to interview and was successful, would it be easy to move across or a problem. Probably would be a long wait again.0

Congratulations everyone getting their calls... it goes to show that DWP do get around to us in the end lol!
And thank you so much Snowy50
I am going to contact my vacancy coordinator and make sure that all of my checks are noted as cleared on their system as this seems to be the major break in the chain between Newcastle and vacancy holder. I know there are no positions available in my area at the moment but i want to make sure that I am on their list when/if positions arrise
Good luck on your training everyone0 -

Just found the details, it was KathB in Bolton, I'm sure she'll let you know what happened.0 -
fingers crossed...when it gets sent over they do call quite quickly remember we have the same ref..i was in your position a few weeks ago callin every day with no luck..what job centre have u said you want to go to??? Once you get 'the call' the waiting seems like history because you have something to look forward to...I hope they call you soon, the lady who called me was really nice in comparison to some of the newcastle lot who seem to want to get you off the phone..
GOOD LUCK
Thanks. I have asked for Selly Oak, Birmingham or Erdington but i am not bothered at this point!! Its not so much just the waiting , its also the messing about with inconsistent info and losing the crb but fingers crossed it will be this week. I am sure that once i get 'the call' all will be forgotten0 -

Also Congratulations to all who have received the CALL!
Not heard a peep yet. I've called various numbers including the number on the successful letter with no joy whatsoever. I've tried emailing the name on the letter but it doesn't work. My new plan is to visit the nearest JCP with my successful letter & CRB form & ask them to sort it out. After all they are supposed to find people jobs, aren't they!?
Have you had any luck at all?
ps. A BIG CONGRATS TO EVERYONE WHO'S RECEIVED 'THE CALL' & START DATES.0 -
Hi folks. I received my call today for the Exec Officer post (West Midlands/Black Country vacancies) and start Monday 20th July. Finally!!! After over 3 months of waiting!!!
I received my letter confirming i was successful at interview on 24th April after being interviwed on the 4th April. My recruitment checks i know for a fact were completed 5 weeks ago today.
I contacted the DWP in Newcastle last week again to try and get info on what was happening and I think I have an explanation also for why it takes so long. From what I was told they try and start people in batches of about 12 or so in various branches. So they have to wait for a batch of so many people to be available for that branch. On top of this they also then have to wait for a Trainer to be available for that branch to commence the training. SO this is why i was told it takes so long after the checks are done.
Also if you said you were immediately available for work this will go in your favour because apparently they tend to contact these people first as they can get them started quicker.
Myself and two other friends who all originally applied March/April time have had our phonecalls in the last couple of weeks so i think there is some movement now!! Dont think you'll be waiting much longer!!
Have you been told 3 late nights and Sat 9 - 1 a friend of mine has just turned down this office because of the hours - just wondering what they told you. Congrats anyway0 -
Got the call at 1:06pm today. Are you still interested? she said! Start 24th August at Stockport(my local) jobcentre. She confirmed it's full time and training will be there too. Also told me salary is £20,240 for 37 hrs per week. EO post. My test interview were 23rd March 1045am at CoMS. Good luck to all irc57875 applicants and keep your mobile close!0

Hello!
Thought I'd share my experience with DWP so far and get some help from you guys. Basically I did the initial online test/application for AO then I was invited to do a numeracy and literacy test, when I arrived they then told us whoever passed it would go straight into an interview (wasn't best pleased) anyway I gave it my best shot and the two women that interviewed me were lovely.
I thought the interview went well, but I'm not so sure after reading posts on here? I asked the interviewers how many or what was the rate of people who managed to get the jobs after the interview stage and she said 80-90% get through, I came out beaming! As I thought it went well.
Also only about 6 out of 25 of us got through the numeracy and literacy tests which I was extremely surprised at to say the least. So I don't think many got through to the actual interview stage, especially after they were looking for approximately 40 people!
Anyway I had my test results back a few days ago and to my delight my scores were high enough to apply for the EO position! But no mention of a job yet, just wondered did the people who got the jobs get their successful letters along with the results or? Now that I've just had the results and nothing else I don't think I was successful at the interview?! Just wanted to know what your process was?
I wish they'd hurry up with an answer, this is driving me insane!0 -
