Just to update. I called Glynnis again today at Newcastle to chase up my checks being cleared (As it has been over the weekend and after what has happened i am now on the case!). She was not there this morning and so i left a message. As i had not heard, i called again this afternoon (they love me im sure :rotfl:). Again Glynnis was busy and so i left another message but in fairness she has just called me back (About 2.5 hrs later) to say my checks are cleared and she has passed it onto 'the business' for someone to call me and hopefully it will be this week!! lets hope so :j

Any more news and i will update. Whether i will hear this week or not i dont know? but all i can say is the same as everyone else which is that if your crb has been sent to Newcastle and you do not hear within 2 weeks THEN CALL THEM AND CHASE IT. I know they are busy but i called a couple of times over the last 3 weeks and was fobbed off every time until last Friday when i managed to speak to the lovely Glynnis. If i had not called again on Friday my checks would still be sitting around going un-noticed with no crb in the file and no job for me :(

CONGRATULATIONS to all who have had their call this week/end of last week, there are too many to mention but well done to all of you :)

Just to say, I GOT THE CALL, as well. Got it for 16:01 today. Had a woman from Wolverhampton to say I start on Monday. Weridly, I rang up this morning to find out that the woman dealing with my application had left and it had now been taken over by a newbie. So long unemployment. Got West Bromwich which is good because it was my third choice. Within travelling distance. So glad. So for all you's waiting forjob offers or are new to the game:- here's the timeline

19TH March - Applied for Position
    26TH March - Closing Date
    15TH April - Lit & Numeracy Test
    18TH April - Interview
    22TH April - Success Letter
13TH May - CRB Returned To Me
25TH May - Medical Check Via Phone
27TH May - Contacted Newcastle to find they hadn't recv CRB (Forwarded to them)
6TH June - CRB Returned Back to me
15TH June - Checks All Clear
    13TH July - THE CALL
20TH July - Start date (till January 2011)

BUT.... they said they hadn't got my holiday request. So I have to sort that out with my line manager.

So to everyone on the yellow brick road or starting out on it, the wait is long, frustrating and tiresome but when you get THE CALL, its all worth.

Thanks to everyone on the forum who has contributed and helped all of us understand the crazy world of the DWP Waiting List.

Big congratulations to everyone who got "the call" today, like me :D!! And to everyone else who is still waiting, don't give up, there is light at the end of this long tunnel, persevere and don't leave anything to chance, ring them regularly and don't let them fob you off with generic replies!

    Hi everyone,
I have never posted before but I am a regular reader and have always found the forum to be very informative and supportive. I was wondering if anyone is on the waiting list for IRC 56347 Essex. I applied online last night for positions in the South Essex area thinking they were different centres thanI had applied for previously but turns out they are offices that had been my 1st and 2nd choice. The only difference appears to be the working hours which are now between 8am-8pm, I'm curious to see if many people had been contacted, as I wonder why they just haven't asked people on the waiting list would they consider different hours. DWP newcastle have said that the lists will not be merged but my worry now is in the future there will be 2 seperate waiting lists and won't they be more likely to take people off the list that have applied for positions with more flexible hours. Seems even more waiting around now to see if I get an interview this time around. Don't know if I can take much more..

PS congratulations to all of you that have finally made it

I have sent you a personal message with info that is extremely helpful!

PS, CHI CHI also check your inbox!!
