I start training for EO a week on Monday.

Was your interview with the new competencies?

My previous interview was prior to these, and just wondered how they differ

    Many thanks

Anyone here actually started their job as an AO? I was wondering how you are feeling about it? Are you enjoying it is it all it has been hyped up to be?

Ive been an AO for a wk now. Been training and will be for the next 3 wks or so. Where i am based is making sure all staff know what theyre doing before they go onto the floor. So much to learn but i am so glad im there. Ive shadowed staff and i cant wait to be down there working.

    i got a question too!!
Have you been doing full days during training? I know my 1st day is 10am- 3 but not sure about the rest
One day I will be a [STRIKE]respectable[/STRIKE] Civil Servant.
Until then, I will be a secret MSE poster :shhh:
  • It seems as though things are slowly moving on in many areas, but still no further on for my application IRC58395 for EO role in JCP in South Tyne & Wear area... any more like me in this boat, would love to hear from you, or if you've recently been posted...

    Interview date: 1st April

Letter (successful & on 12 month waiting list) : supposed to receive the letter within the week, eventually received after much chasing about 3 weeks later

Conversations with HR in Newcastle confirmed everyone on the list would be posted, however it's now 3.5 months on & no further forwards in receiving that much-awaited phone call.

Update on last week: Called HR to see if any further forwards (all checks completed & CRB received) and no commitment could be given, no firm answers. Then pressed for answers in the local Jobcentre, to be told they were still taking on over 100 and STILL no date can be provided. I am so reluctant to sit & wait on this job until it's confirmed properly, but having had no luck with other jobs, I fail to see any other option.

Anyone in the same position for this vacancy, or who has just been posted, please let me know, I'd love to find out what number they're down to on the list....

Yes on full pay from the day you start even though as im training i do 9.30-4pm. :) This could vary from office to office though (hours i mean) The first 2 days was an induction with people from different offices. Some had been there only for a wk and were on the front line. I really think it depends where you are based.
