DWP employment waiting list

My advice is this: do not bother ringing Newcastle at all. The information you get back is likely to be corrupt or a fob-off. Checking that they have all necessary forms is worth doing - but again the person at the other end may be mistaken.
You should be able to tell that your referees have been contacted.
Disclosure Scotland will tell you if they have received a request and when it was sent back. At this point I reckon you're on the last lap.
After that sit and wait. Go to the pub. Do some gardening. Worked for me. Now I have an excellent garden, lots of new friends down the pub and a new job. And a suntan.
Hey Orb
You have definitely taken a 'chill pill' today :rotfl: !!0 -
Hey guys....
Just a quick one to say that I GOT THE CALL TODAY!!!!!!
Whoop whoop.... I've been a lurker in this thread since I knew I was going to be having the interview and have not posted much but just thought I would share the news...
Tests 26th April
Interview 3rd of May
Success letter 21st May
The call 10th July
Start date 13th July
I'm starting this monday because I'm unemployed and didn't have much planned for next week so will be awesome to get back into it after 4 months without any job and hardly any interviews. My signing on day is also this Monday. Will be funny when they call me.......
I am an AO in the South East Wales area as of Monday morning. Thank Christ for that....0 -
Well done Welshjoe27
Quick Q, when you received your success letter, did it say you were on a waiitng list or not? I'm just really confused about the whole process.
I've been out of work now for 7 months after being made redundant so i'm desperate for this job, i just hope i get one.0 -

Heyyy, cheers!!!
My success letter didn't say anything about being on a waiting list. Just the normal "you have been successful and we are now undertaking pre-recruitment checks" etc etc..
However, when I rang Newcastle a couple of weeks ago to ask about my checks they said I was 15th on the list to be checked in that area. Am not sure if that was a merit list or not.... so yeah, was a bit confusing.
Hey Litts... well done on your success letter, hopefully you will hear next week!!!!!:D:D

Wow.... thanks for that. Now I'm even more happy!!! :j
I'm currently sat at my computer actually questioning if it's real or not. I think I'm going to celebrate A LOT tomorrow and spend Sunday a bit hungover whilst preparing clothes for Monday morning....0 -

Cazris, I agree with this.. at the moment there is no real point contacting Newcastle as they really will just feed you a line about procedure.. best thing to do is to enjoy your success in passing the interview, return all paperwork and wait for a few weeks.
I would phone Disclosure Scotland a couple of weeks after you sent your CRB to make sure it has been received (and chase it up with Newcastle if not). Once you know the check is complete, then I would ring Newcastle to see if all other checks are completed and you should be well on your way to a vacany holder by then.
Don't worry about the horror stories on here... remember there are happy stories too that have involved no hiccups and a smooth transition in employment.0
