DWP employment waiting list

No, only advertising for west and south essex, they've left North out this time. Doesn't bode well..
I agree with you TwinPeaks... nothing ever goes as expected so, if I hear it will be when i've given up all hope or consideration of being recruited.
These things are sent to try us...:rotfl:
Don't worry Chi-Chi - it's very obvious that things are starting to move on this recruitment exercise and you'll get that call.
I'd also not be too concerned about the different things that staff at Newcastle tell you - it appears to me that they will tell you anything at all just to get rid of you - half the time they have NO IDEA. For example I was told that it was not possible to tell me my place on The List of Doom - the person concerned simply couldn't be arsed!0 -

Congrats to Julietormsby, Downshifted, and Smirky Guy, but the treatment Chi Chi and at150 have received is just plain out of order. I am now beginning to wonder if it might be worth informing Yvette Cooper about the behaviour and competency of her department.
Having previously worked in the Civil Service for god knows how many years I know how these things work. Letter arrives in Minister's office, staff look at and decide how to proceed i.e. 'treat official' which means send down the line to operational level, usually EO and ask them to reply on Minister's behalf. Or 'draft reply' again send down the line to operational level to draft a reply for Minister to sign, this time draft reply goes up through the ranks for them to amend etc or ask for imput from other divisions/departments. 'draft reply' put in front of Minister to sign and office then despatch. Not entirely sure how higher grades would react to staff or potential staff pursuing this course of action!!!!!!!!!!! I for one would certainly not consider it.0 -
Getting there, one step at a time! I have phoned Newcastle again, someone a little higher up this time, and I have finally found out my position on the merit list, and that my checks are definitely clear and, despite what they keep telling me, are definitely with the post holder for this area. Also the lovely lady I spoke to said she will make sure that my post holder knows my checks are cleared and chase them up for me!0

I've called Newcastle and asked to be put through to the checking team. Surprise surprise !! I was told they were too busy dealing with applications and were not taking calls.!! AArrrghh!!!0

I got "the call" only it wasn't for me!! They had mixed my phone numbers up with someone elses name! My local recruitment officer phoned my house phone looking for this other person and then my mobile, this smacks of incompetence but I am kind of optimistic after this due to the fact that after I told her she had the wrong number for the second time she then asked for me by name so I must be next on the list or at least close! Not long now (hopefully!!)0 -

Sorry to rain on your parade but I was told my checks were clear and I would soon get "the call" well over a month ago, I have since been told many times that they are waiting for my checks to clear!
Keep chasing them up, your checks need to be sent to your local vacancy holder but the link from Newcastle to local JCP's seems to be a bit hazardous!
You may be luckier than a lot of people on here, for your sake I hope so, but just be aware that you may still have a long wait ahead!0 -
I am ringing them now0
