Thanks Chi.... still, have been following all your posts and it sucks that you seem to be getting messed about.

Aww thanks WelshJoe, I will say though that the checker that I've been in contact with (think he's a team leader) has always been really helpful and gone out of his way to find out information for me. The problems have come in from a few mistakes the office has made with paperwork and just a general lack of organisation in the department, which is frustrating, but it is still nice to know that someone there has been fighting my corner!

I will still get hold of the vacancy holder's number and call them directly to see if any jobs have become available and just take it from there.

Meanwhile, Welshjoe, you make the most of this weekend and enjoy work bright and early Monday morning!! :)

I note from the posts that the majority of success stories are in respect of the AO vacancies.

Has there been many people successful in the EO applications, or are these vacancies filled more internally?

    Many thanks

    Hey guys....

Just a quick one to say that I GOT THE CALL TODAY!!!!!!

Whoop whoop.... I've been a lurker in this thread since I knew I was going to be having the interview and have not posted much but just thought I would share the news...

    Tests 26th April
    Interview 3rd of May
    Success letter 21st May
    The call 10th July
    Start date 13th July

I'm starting this monday because I'm unemployed and didn't have much planned for next week so will be awesome to get back into it after 4 months without any job and hardly any interviews. My signing on day is also this Monday. Will be funny when they call me....... :D:D:D:D:D

I am an AO in the South East Wales area as of Monday morning. Thank Christ for that....

Congratulations!! I'm still waiting for "the call" for an EO post in Newport. Newcastle have said that my checks have been completed but waiting for others before me on the merit list to be completed before they can send list to the business area.

    Well done Welshjoe  !

That quite a quick turnaround compared to the timescales we have been seeing recently.

Good luck for your start on Monday :D.

I cant remember where i got up to earlier this week? i think it was that i phoned Newcastle on Wednesday and was told that all my checks were present and 'coming along nicely' and there were no notes on my file to say anything was missing and to sit and wait to be called. Guess what!!!!!! my crb was missing!! Thank god i phoned them back, again!!!!!!!

Phoned today and thought why not as ive got nothing to lose and have been waiting 6 weeks since my pre recruitment checks letter and nearly 3 since i sent my crb in. I spoke to 'Sandra' this morning who found my file on the computer and said she would get in touch with the checking team and call me back. Four hours later i called back. This time i spoke to Glynnis who explained that there was not a Sandra working there? Glynnis was brilliant though and looked at my file except she couldnt find me?? the lady dealing with Birmingham is off until next Wednesday but as i had given them my crb 3 weeks ago Glynnis couldnt understand why my checks had not been cleared and me given a start date. Glynnis was great and didnt want me to have to wait until Wednesday and so she actually manually looked for the paper copy of my file but found no crb!!!!! This has meant that i have been waiting 3 weeks for nothing and have been lied to by various members of staff!! I have had to run down to the post office to refax my crb this afternoon and then ring Glynnis back who has assured me that she has now passed my file to the checking team to get signed off. No call as of yet so hopefully it will be next week. I really cannot get over the incompetence of some (not all) of the staff at Newcastle!!!!

If i had not called back today i would have just waited, believing that everything was in order. I could (and still could) have missed out on my first choice jobcentre and weeks of wages! i cannot believe that i faxed my crb on the 22nd June and even called on the 23rd to check they had got it and it has still got lost! unbelievable.

    Hi

It was only a phone call to agree a start date and hours were not discussed. I am in the fortunate position that it does not matter to me what hours I work. I was 7th on the success list so I got my choice of office.

I'm still so excited can't think straight yet.

One thing though, on a somewhat humurous note I have to find out what the 'uniform is' and where to get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Julie am thrilled for you...... CONGRATULATIONS!

Mine was for an EO and I'm pretty sure that there have been a few others on here too.
