Lauren Mcluskey has been replaced by a chap by the name of Steve McGregor.
He was able to tell me that I have slipped down the list by seven places(???) and that the only option yet again is to sit and wait. It could, according to SM be ten minutes or ten weeks!! I asked if there is actually a job available as Iwas starting to doubt this he said yes,as far as he is aware IRC57875 is still valid and they are looking for training space. My checks are complete and this was validated by recieving my CRB through the post from Newcastle today with a return slip fron the DWP. I wish I could be of more help but the contact at the DWP does not have the answers to the big questions such as, when do I start? The JCP where I sign on are aware of the issue as many internal applicants are also waiting but they too have been kept mushroom like.

Hi JDF
I wonder how it's possible to slip down the list. IRC57875 is definitely still valid as Orb has been given a start date - see his earlier post.
I don't remember at the tests/interviews having to choose my prefered offices - do you? This may be a factor in the area vacancy holders being able to offer start dates - just a thought!0 -
Training Update.
Today ( my 3rd day) we finally managed to get onto RM system, this enabled me to register my working hours, banking details next of kin etc.
Also, finally told them about my Manc EO position - Uh Oh! They have now taken me off induction, I'm in SIFT team sorting things alphabetically (what things I dunno) for the rest of the week and they don't know what's happening next week.
Am a little worried because they gave me the impression that theres no promise of dropping back down to AO after 18 months.... Am going to call woman at Manc tomorrow to get this in writing.
Apart from that today was chats from union rep, H&S rep and going through dress standards, behaviour etc.
I'll be sad to leave Bolton, am truly, truly loving it.... But the money is just too much to lose at Manc.

My only advice with any confusion is, go hell for leather trying to get details of the local vacancy manager. So much potential for disaster goes on betwixt Newcastle and there. I'm still trying to work out how on earth I was down as 'no longer interested' according to the local team when Newcastle kept reassuring me things were all in hand.
Eta: I was even rung by Manpower about 6 weeks ago, asking about all my applications and checking they were still live. I gave an emphatic yes. She didn't seem to know anything beyond box ticking questions, which was probably not her fault but infuriating anyway. When I tried to describe the circumstances behind the applications, she audibly switched off. Dismaying stuff. Too many links in the chain. Which is all the more reason why we have to manage it ourselves.:idea:0 -

That's excellent advice. I agree if you're told that your checks have been signed off by Newcastle then it's all down to what happens at local level. You have to find out their details and contact them until you get an answer.0 -

kellycontrary wrote: »Hello! currently in my 4th week in EO Role, lots of training courses either external or internal, Ive had 5 days of external courses plus 2 day induction in another office. Plus about 2-3 days of e-learning on their systems. Plus they like you to shadow all the different jobs within the office which is really useful. There is also more advisor training which is longer (think 7 days( which i havent done yet. Im training to be a loan parent advisor, so this week Ive just started shadowing them properly, and I think Im on a training day for this specific job role too. There is lots to take in! I hope that helped a bit.
p.s someone mentioned it was from birthdays that hols are worked out - not the case in our area as they have said it wouldnt work out fairly and its worked out on the day you start work for the year. So it must be different for different areas0 -

Second application, got told off for using home address, should be Newcastle address!
Third application, didn't have a clue which address to use, so used home one again, then got a phone call from local office because I forgot to state time at address!!!:rotfl:
I got the first one through to my home address and emailed it to Newcastle.
Just waiting to start on Monday now... best of luck to everyone else still waiting, and thanks for all the information provided by fellow posters :T :A
Mommarat - you forgot that I was waiting on Black Country as well - still haven't heard though :rolleyes:0
