DWP employment waiting list

Welcome to the Asylum!!!
My view is that they used to ask prospective employees to provide P60s and wage slips etc but so I have been told by the checking team at Newcastle very often people did not bother to supply them or people were unemployed and unable to, so DWP took to checking via HMRC. Although I must say what relevance does paying tax etc for the last three years have on future employment?????? See what I mean about an Asylum!!!!
Good ere init?
Hrm... I can see they are going to challenge me! Haha. I have the P60s so maybe that will speed things up... or perhaps not :rolleyes:0 -

First application, use home address
Second application, got told off for using home address, should be Newcastle address!
Third application, didn't have a clue which address to use, so used home one again, then got a phone call from local office because I forgot to state time at address!!!:rotfl:
I got the first one through to my home address and emailed it to Newcastle.
Just waiting to start on Monday now... best of luck to everyone else still waiting, and thanks for all the information provided by fellow posters :T :A
Mommarat - you forgot that I was waiting on Black Country as well - still haven't heard though :rolleyes:0 -

She has been waiting to hear, got her success letter 2 weeks after interview, then received her CRB back 25th June and today has got her start date 10th August! Got offered a position in a totally different area, but she declined it and stood her ground saying she wanted the area she had applied for, which she has got.I am chuffed to bits for her, so just want to say good luck to everyone who is waiting for the call, hang in there.
:DI'm glad we get counterbalancing stories. That's a happy story. What district has she joined?:idea:0 -

Congrats to anyone who's had the call by the way.
How do you know where you are on the Merit list?!
DWP have emailed, called to urgently chase up things. They now say everything's cleared. I'll post a timeline of events in a bit. I know I'll be working with some very patient people when (or should that be if?) I start!
Hi Cadellin
Telephone the number on your successful letter (Lauren McCluskey is no longer there) but whoever answers should tell you what position you are on the merit list. There's no reason why they won't.
Let us know what info you get from Newcastle.0 -
Hello all
has anyone requested to work part time hours or is working part time as a EO and if so when is the best time to agree/arrange the working patterns/hours? I am dead worried because the only way I can work is between school hours due to childcare issues. I welcome any information0 -
i applied near enough everyone of them but hopefully get something in the Oldbury / Smethwick area. But also applied further afield such as Halesowen and Walsall. Well I also had to have a Medical assessment due to my rickety fingers. Lol. But the woman on the phone passed me although I kept telling her it was a past problem and not recent. Hopefully not too soon now. Whenever I go to sign on, the lady who does it always says "Don't worry not long now". Well, Im kinda safe in the knowledge that one of the staff there in the same position said it took her 3 and a bit months. She got told she was successful in October last year and started in January.0

LV, I got my waiting list letter on the 20th April - same as you I think (IRC57875). I rang DS and they told me that they received my check request (to be returned to Lauren McCluskey) on the 20th May which was sent back to DWP 27th May - this is borne out by the fact that the DWP sent the form on to me and it got here this morning - dated 26th May.
According to the lady that spoke to me I was initially in the 3rd or 4th induction (I forget which now) but at the top of said list for a 24th August start. However she had a place to fill in the 30th June start, which I couldn't manage. However I was then called with a place in the next induction (27/7) to work at my local JS. She did say that she had a lot of people to get through and from what she said (can't remember her exact words) I got the impression that she needed more than she had available.
I have no idea where I was in the merit list; I tried asking Newcastle but the person there said that it wasn't possible to tell me, so I didn't press the point.
Hi Orb
Let's hope that your impression is correct and that they have more vacancies than people available. But of the 5 posters on here for IRC57875 you are the only one to have had 'the call' in fact you've had 'multiple calls'.
I phoned Newcastle for an update and didn't even have to ask for my position on the merit list -the information was offered to me. Although I was going to ask anyway.0
