In the vacancy advert did it state that part time hrs would be considered? If so, you may not have a problem with getting part time hrs, but they will probably require you to attend full time during training.
I do not have a wealth of knowledge regarding getting the hrs you want, as i too am worried about this and how i will make it all work with the childcare that i do have in place. I've been told that hrs are not discussed and agreed until your first day. I got 'the call' yesterday and tried to talk about hrs with the caller, but she too told me i need to bring this up with my manager on my 1st day.
Hi Thank you very much for the information.0 -
Hey Ferien,
If I remember correctly you also had an interview at Baskerville House (from a different thread). How long after the interview did you get this successful letter? I'm still waiting to hear about my interview, i assume you are too from that post?
Yep, I did have an interview at Baskerville House, still waiting to here from that one.
I got my success letter exactly 3 weeks after my interview. However, they did say 3 weeks in the interview, whereas the Baskerville House one they said up to 12.0 -

Have just received THE CALL. Have to give 4 weeks notice so start on 10th August in JC+. Does anyone know about the training etc i.e. how long and what is covered?
Can't really believe it after all this time!!!!!!!
I only hope more of you get the call today. Best of Luck.
Well done Juliet :j
You've had us on a 'knifes edge' for a couple of days now. I'm so glad your persistance has finally paid off :beer:0 -
i am !!!!ed off now.....i have found out this morning by email from someone in newcastle that my checks have been completed/cleared and passed to the local recruitment team in my area on the 6th July ..thats great.
however... i am currently 40th (yes 40th! on the merit list) and they will only offer positions strictly in merit order. as far as i was aware there were 17 positions available when i applied!
There was NO mention of any waiting list on my succsussful letter, am i stupid or doesn't successful mean you got the job! i stopped looking for other jobs when i got the letter i guess i better start looking again, god knows when i will get a call if at all....thanks for the months of torture DWP0 -
I've just had another look at the DWP jobs section again, https://www.dwp.gov.uk/jobs
There's another round of positions been posted this morning and yesterday, Black Country, West Midlands (Staffs area), North Wales, Halifax, Essex, Leicestershire and London.
Is this another top-up exercise for these areas?
Maybe they should post a link to this forum together with the vacancies!0 -
