Hello all,
Just thought I would add myself to this thread, just got my successful letter this morning :j
It's for a new benefit delivery centre in Walsall. In the interview they said they are taking on 400 new people, so I am feeling quite hopeful about this
How do you find out where you are on the waiting list, do you have to call someone? Can you find out your score? Sorry if this has already been answered before, but this thread is way too long to read it all!
Oh, and congratulations/ good luck to everyone else!
It's actually a 'merit' list based on your interview performance. Telephone the number on your successful letter and just start the conversation with asking general questions about security checks etc. If they don't offer the information ask them where you are on 'the list'. It depends on who answers the phone some give the info freely others seem to think it's a secret.
Anyway good luck and keep ringing until the phone is answered.0 -
What hours have they said you have to do?
Hello,
Possibility of them changing the hours 8-8pm but nothing confirmed. Asked on first day if this would be ok - said they would give notice and it would be shared evenly which is fair enough. For the moment my hours are 8.45 - 5 with obviously the use of flexi. More than happy with that arrangement but understand that it might be difficult for some.0 -
HI,
It was me who said about birthday holiday dates, I'm currently at Bolton BDC training as an AO, but move to Eccles Job Centre on 20th July as an EO. Was good to hear about your training. Where are you based?
Kath.x
Kath, sent you a private message, after training realised need to be more careful with what im putting on the net even if its just my personal circumstancesx

kellycontrary wrote: »Hello! currently in my 4th week in EO Role, lots of training courses either external or internal, Ive had 5 days of external courses plus 2 day induction in another office. Plus about 2-3 days of e-learning on their systems. Plus they like you to shadow all the different jobs within the office which is really useful. There is also more advisor training which is longer (think 7 days( which i havent done yet. Im training to be a loan parent advisor, so this week Ive just started shadowing them properly, and I think Im on a training day for this specific job role too. There is lots to take in! I hope that helped a bit...0

however... i am currently 40th (yes 40th! on the merit list) and they will only offer positions strictly in merit order. as far as i was aware there were 17 positions available when i applied!
There was NO mention of any waiting list on my succsussful letter, am i stupid or doesn't successful mean you got the job! i stopped looking for other jobs when i got the letter i guess i better start looking again, god knows when i will get a call if at all....thanks for the months of torture DWP
How frustrating that must be for you!! Maybe there are more than 17 positions available. It does seem a small amount of personnel required. I was told they didn't know how many they would require - it depended on a lot of different factors.
You never know!!0 -
dear hurryupdwp
that does not sound encouraging at all and very unfair. not to be told from the outset that you are on a waiting list and then springing it on you like that, atrocious. i hope things change for you soon, i just hate all this waiting and i have only just started this process. this thread is like my new best friend, sounds sad.0 -
Congratulations Mixed Emotions, who did you get the call from? I am waiting for my CRb at the moment as i called them today. They have said my checks are all finished just waiting for thr DS Certificate to scan over to them.0

After an interview on March 14 and a successful letter on March 23 I finally had the phone call today and start training for personal adviser in Exeter on 4 August! Hooray
Hope this gives hope to everyone who is waiting patiently
The local HR people seem lovely - much better than Newcastle where they must be totally overwhelmedDownshifted

is an equal opportunities employer and as an employee i cannot comment on individual cases. if they dont write and tell you that you havent got the job straight away and your references check out then youve got it probably.0
