How strange! Although we should all have got used to this by now. :rotfl:
    Which position/area is this for?

Holidays are strange - your annual leave starts the month of your birthday, so, mine is September and I have started in July, so they'll work out how many days I am entitled to between now and September and then my 22 days entitlement starts from September!

I like the sound of that as it was my birthday yesterday so hopefully I will start soon and get almost a full years entitlement! :rotfl:

it was for a national HEO position, I don't mind where I go as long as I have a good job, luckily I'm still finishing my management studies so no real rush till end of October but wouldn't want to be uncertain after that.

they were very polite though, and thanked me for my continuing patience.

That's a useful synopsis Kath. Yeah the civil service has always done that with leave. My b'day's in January and I have already told them I need a week off late August so it won't leave me with much. But that's OK, I've just had 15 months off.

So what did they say about flexi and hours?

That sounds interesting but also like a recipe for complications when HR try and work out holiday entitlements!

    Hi jimdfish

    Any further news from IRC57875?

Have you had 'the call' yet? You previously posted you were low teens on the merit list so you should be getting it soon.

Nothing yet. I am going to phone tomorrow before I sign on (again) and if someone will answer my phone I will post progress, hopefully.

I wasn't aware that they advertised national positions, is it a specialist position or general JCP post?. So you could literally be offered a job anywhere? I have been successful in both London and Birmingham at HEO level and have been given start date of 10th August. Hope they won't keep you waiting too long.

    Thanks JDF

Try and find out from them the contact details of the vacancy co-ordinator in the Greater Manchester area. Apparently they are the people on the ground floor who organise when new recruits are going to start. I would try and find out myself but I'm further down the merit list than you.

They will be able to give you a start date rather than HR in Newcastle.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks KathB for your valuable insight into working for the JCP.

I suppose it was a bit like :eek:.

Anymore post on your further days training I'm sure would be welcomed by all.
