    Hi All

An update. Just been having a telephone call with the Regional HR Manager for the East of England. I explained all she has taken my phone number and e-mail address, told me she has meetings in Ipswich tomorrow but has promised to make enquiries of Newcastle and report back. I think a bottle of wine tonight.
My advice is go for it.

Stop press - Reuters reports at 16.00 Regional HR Manager rang me.

This is all very exciting stuff.. i love it.. definitely keep us informed!

I have just used the highly invaluable information provided by Landslide victory about email addresses to contact my lovely checker man who helped me through my initial CRB catastrophies!

    *Thanks LV, you're a star!!*

I have emailed him asking for my vacancy co-ordinator's details in the hope that he will be lovely once again.. I have received an immediate 'out of office' reply saying he will be back tomorrow so I definitely know I have the correct address... only time will tell if it helps me.:T

    Hi Juliet
That is good news after the way you have been treated. I've read back through your post and you have been 'put through the mill'. Your employer being contacted without you having a start date (twice), problems with the processing of your CRB, you then being told you were going on a waiting list after all and then the DWP advertising for EO's again for your area.
It beggars belief - you could almost write a novel on your experiences.
Anyway I hope it's great news tomorrow and you get sorted out :D.

Good grief I've done some ringing around today. First I rang the checking team at Newcastle to find out the date my papers were sent across. Then I spoke to the vacancy co-ordinator at the local team, who spoke to the vacancy manager, who has just rang me now. I start early August, I got my first choice of JCP and just WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!:beer: I'm cracking a nice bottle of something open later!!! In fact, I may just do so now!!

One very weird thing was that they had me down as withdrawing from the job. Probably why they never got in touch then. I haven't a clue how they came to that conclusion, but it is definitely worth chasing and chasing. Don't just wait.

I am (still) waiting on an EO position in the Norfolk area, from what I have been told it will be most likely in Norwich, which was my 3rd choice but at this moment in time I am following the beggars can't be choosers train of thought. Cambridge is (strangely) where the vacancy holder for our exercise (IRC58380) is based.

  • Hi jimdfish

    Any further news from IRC57875?

Have you had 'the call' yet? You previously posted you were low teens on the merit list so you should be getting it soon.
