Hi All

I am getting the run around now. Vacancy co-ordinator on Thursday told me to ring local recruitment lady today (has been on leave since Thursday). local lady says she has no knowledge of me and that applications getpassed to her a few at at time!!!!!.. Anyway tried to speak to Vacancy Co-ordinator but she is not availab le at the moment and said they will ring back. How long should I giv e her before I ring again???

Is it Sharon Travellion you are after? When I rang and asked for her this morning I was told she is on holiday for a few weeks but wasn't told who was covering her. I imagine someone must be covering her though if she is away for that long.

I guess I would go back to Newcastle in the mean time and see if they know who now has your details.

Really hope it is sorted soon for you

Ring back the job manager, state the IRC, state name, how long you've been waiting and the name of the person who told you to talk to her. Say firmly that you have been told to speak to her and you have no other way of finalising your posting, but if she can suggest someone else who could help, you'd be happy to take details. In other words, don't let her get out of doing her job. If she gives you the same run-around, ask for the name and contact details of her line manager. Stay calm, but explain that you want to bring the matter to resolution and you have to explore every possible way of making that happen. The job manager is not the line manager of the actual job, just the person who organises the placement, so you'll probably never have to have contact with them again anyway.

Many thanks for this. Have just got off the phone to all and sundry in Newcastle. Would you believe it they are saying they are waiting for CRB check. I screamed but you have it, you had it on the 18th June because your Jamie Fender sent it on to us!!!!!!!. This is utter utter incompetent lunacy. A complete mad house. They are going to ring me back. So another call I wait for!!!!!!

I just emailed DS yesterday night got a reply from them today this morning stating that they have printed my certificate on 6 jul and sent to DWP. i got my success letter on 27 jun so that is a gap of about 2 weeks. now lets see how long it takes for DWP Newcastle to get back to me???????? will keep u guys posted

Wow, Tarmis that's great! looks like you may be on track for a quick turnaround..
I would probably ring Newcastle in a day or so and advise them that your CRB certificate has been completed and sent back to them and give the name of the person it was sent to (if you have it) as DWP seem to lose track of these certificates quite often. Maybe ask if all other checks/refs are sorted as well. Good luck

I can't believe Newcastle can get it so wrong so often!!
just when we think things are being sorted they throw us back about 10 steps..there are just no words for how incompetant some of these people are... sounds to me like Newcastle should be taking on some new staff as well to sort this mess out!

i don't have the name of who DS sent CRB cert to, but am going to find out and call DWP Newcastle in a few days. got to keep on top of these things, because as alot guys have been saying you can get lost in the system and forgotten. as they say those who speak loudest get heard.

Definitely so true.. and from past experience DS have no problem letting you know the name of the person it has been sent to.. you'll probably find that is the name of the person handling your entire application at newcastle as well.
