DWP employment waiting list

The lady has just phoned me back to tell me she has spoken to the checking team and all checks are cleared and my details have gone over to the recruitment team.. she wouldn't give me their details and just said I have to wait depending on how many people are in the queue in front of me.. (she didn't know how many that is). Last time I was told I was 54 in the merit queue and that was about 2 months ago.. not sure how many have been recruited in this area since then though.
Kind of got the impression she was making it up as she went along but got to give the benefit of the doubt and I am grateful that she took the time to call back. So I guess that is all I am going to know for another couple of weeks unless i do actually get 'The Call'0 -

Just had a brief look at your previous postings where you say your checks etc are all complete etc., and you took your tests in Essex. Well this is a long shot but I am in Norfolk and have been told that our vacancy coordinator is in Cambridgeshire her name is Sharon Trevillion 01223 884763. Perhaps she covers Essex too? Anyway Sharon has passed us down to Norfolk level so that is where we are at.
Aw Juliet that is great information thank you so much!!.. I may call and just plead ignorance and hope she gives me the right contact details if they don't cover Essex.
Thank you!

Hi lilli2008
just want to add my congrats too, well done, i will be chasing too, make sure that they know that i am interested. well done again.0 -
Congrats on your success (finally) Lilli2008. :j
Received call from DWP Recruitment team this morning, thinking this is it my wait is over. No way:mad:
They were enquiring if I had received my disclosure form. This was sent directly to Newcastle as they suggested during the exercise. Checked with DS and confirmed the form was despatched to DWP on 18th June.
Now DWP will contact DS and request a copy.
Has anyone experienced this and what advice can you offer?

Hi Naz
Sorry to hear of your distress.. This isn't my exact experience with DWP and CRB forms although I've had my share of problems with them!
My advice would probably be, if you don't hear anything in a week or so then ring DS again to check that they have sent a copy to DWP and find out the name of the person it was sent to, then follow it up with DWP to make sure it arrives. From past experience Disclosure Scotland have always been far more efficient and given more answers than DWP.
The fact that DWP called you to chase it up implies that they are keeping an eye on your case so that is something, as I never even had a call to follow it up and had to call DWP to notify them of the problem.
Hope this helps and you get your call soon0 -

I was told last week by DWP that they were waiting for my crb. I asked for the crb reference number & called DS to check if there were any probs with it. They told me that it had been sent back (completed) to DWP at the beginning of June!!! I asked them to send a copy it to me which they kindly did & now I'll forward a scanned copy (or email) to DWP.
Hope this helps0 -

Let us know how you get on with your endeavours today to get answers. It obviously did lili a lot of good to be persistent - so 'take no prisoners'!!!
Hi Landslide
I have mangaed to get a little further information off DWP after a few calls this morning. They brought up the my details and have told me that my checks have been completed and cleared 30th June and my details have now passed to the wales recruitment team who then pass it on to the local recruitment officer.
history of saga now as follows -
26/4 sat numeracy and literacy tests
10/5 interview
15/5 recieved test pass letter
15/5 recieved interview succesful letter (no waiting list)
9/6 Disclosure Scotland sent CRB to DWP Newcastle
30/6 checks completed/cleared and papers passed to wales team who then pass to local recruitment officer
SOME PROGRESS AT LAST:p now i just need to get hold of the wales recruitment team, got a number but no answer yet0 -

Thank you so much again Juliet,
I have rung this number and spoken to a gentlemen there.. they don't cover Essex so I think I have confused him somewhat! However he is going to email the vacancy holder in my area and give her my details hopefully to call me back and give me some information on where my application is at.

Landslide_Victory wrote: »Take smirkyguy's advice - write to HR at Newcastle and quote the IRC no for the role applied for.
Most poster's (though not all) have received prompt feedback. Most of those (like smirkyguy) who have had further interviews have passed.
So get the feedback pdq in case you have another chance.
Good luck in the future.
I wrote to the person that was named on my letter for my IRC requesting feedback. It has been over 3 weeks and haven't received anything. Any advice, should I write again, or maybe send an email..I have the possibility of 2 or 3 interviews coming up and don't want to fail again.0
