Thanks. I was originally told they hoped for mid-July too, so maybe I'll be given a similar date. I emailed earlier and was told my checks had cleared and someone would be in touch in the 'near future'.

It should be soon. Maybe you will hear from the same lady as me, as she was from the district office for West Mids rather than the actual office I will be working in. If this is the case, she told me she had a list of people to call and was working her way through.

Found out my papers have been processed and sent to the local job manager. Just trying to get hold of them now.

Oh I can almost see a light at the end of this tunnel.

That's good news Lili, I guess this means you will be getting your start date soon : )
Who did you speak to regarding this, I tried to call Newcastle today and can't get through.

Hey... I'm waiting for a start date as an AO for the South Wales area..... Where did you have you interview? Had mine in Newport on the 3rd of May and received a successful letter on the 20th.

Had my CRB sent to my home address last week and I sent it on to the DWP... nothing from them so far though....

Glad to see there is someone else in my area waiting... I was beginning to get a bit paranoid that perhaps people have started already....

    Hi Welshjoe

I had my interview in Cardiff on the 10th May and then the successful letter on the 15th May, my CRB was sent by Disclosure Scotland direct to DWP newcastle on 9th June. i have been trying to get in touch with DWP today to find out whats happening today but with no success.. i have phoned 2 different no's 4 times ...perhaps they are too busy 'checking' to answer the phone:rolleyes:

on a positive note though, a nice lady at my local job centre informs me that no one has been put in place yet at AO level in the South Wales Valleys District so i guess we are not the only ones cracking up:rotfl:

I have phoned Newcastle today to try and confirm if my details have been passed over to a post holder and to get their contact details if so. I left a message with a lady who told me she would talk to a checker immediately but she hasn't called back all day *sigh* Not sure why I expected any different.

Good grief I've done some ringing around today. First I rang the checking team at Newcastle to find out the date my papers were sent across. Then I spoke to the vacancy co-ordinator at the local team, who spoke to the vacancy manager, who has just rang me now. I start early August, I got my first choice of JCP and just WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!:beer: I'm cracking a nice bottle of something open later!!! In fact, I may just do so now!!

One very weird thing was that they had me down as withdrawing from the job. Probably why they never got in touch then. I haven't a clue how they came to that conclusion, but it is definitely worth chasing and chasing. Don't just wait.
