DWP employment waiting list

Great news! Good luck
xx
Thanks!
I wish I'd done this earlier. Mind you, I had some work last week which distracted me from things a bit.
I'm somewhat confused about why my papers were passed over a month ago and I still haven't heard anything, and why I haven't been sent a copy of my CRB. But I feel a bit nearer resolution now.:idea:0 -
Hi!
I went for my DWP interview on Wednesday (1st July) and I'm just wondering when I could expect a letter letting me know if I have been successful or not.
I know that the post I applied for starts at the end of August so I'm just curious really. How long were you waiting for a letter/call?
Thanks
It seems to vary between 'within a few days' and 3 weeks. The official line is 3 weeks, iir (although it's been a while since my interview, this may have changed). Did they not tell you at interview?:idea:0 -

I recieved my successful letter (no waiting list) on the 15th may and as yet have heard nothing, i have phoned newcastle last week and they tried to fob me off with old 'the crb/disclosure can take 6 weeks to come back' line. even though disclosure scotland say they now turn around a basic check in 5 days!?
well, i phoned disclosure scotland and they have told me they sent my crb to the DWP on the 9th june and could even give me the name of who they sent it to, i have since tried to contact this person but he is on holiday apparantlly..great. All i can get out of them is i should here something very soon.
this is driving me crazy i am living of the redundency money from my previous job and it won't last for ever!
Is anyone else on here waiting for a start date in the south wales area for AO
(if your worried about your crb get in touch with disclosure scotland and if you give them you name and date of birth they can tell you when and who they have sent it to)
DWP have had mine for a month and still not heard anything, i thought this was the final check !! AAAAaRRRRGGH my head hurts from the deafening silence of the phone
Yours is a very familiar tale. I will PM you with details of someone in the checking team, who is very helpful.:idea:0 -

Hello,
Send a letter to the HR Department asking for feedback and quote the IRC reference number. I failed an interview for a position in Luton and received feedback within 5 working days. I found the comments quite useful and managed to be successful in my next two interviews.
Like many others on here I haven't heard anything back, but I'm not too worried as I managed to secure a permanent role with the NHS
Good luck!

Found out my papers have been processed and sent to the local job manager. Just trying to get hold of them now.
Oh I can almost see a light at the end of this tunnel.
Hi Lili
I am so pleased for you. Did they happen to say by any chance when they had passed your papers to the local job manager?0 -

Thanks Juliet. I'm not starting the party yet. Still no actual start date, just a bit more info.
The file for the EO job was passed over early June. For the AO post it was 2 weeks later. I know my CRB wasn't back til late June so unsure where that left the EO file. Perhaps that's what delayed it.
Anyway, if haven't heard from job manager by mid afternoon I will start ringing her. I've missed my spinning class to wait for this call so let's hope it comes soon!!!:idea:0 -

Take smirkyguy's advice - write to HR at Newcastle and quote the IRC no for the role applied for.
Most poster's (though not all) have received prompt feedback. Most of those (like smirkyguy) who have had further interviews have passed.
So get the feedback pdq in case you have another chance.
Good luck in the future.0 -

Lady of D, i agree with lili here, I was told two-three weeks from the time that ALL of the interviews had been completed in my area... for me, I had my interview on 11th March and received my successful letter on 30th March.
Hope that helps0 -

Hi Lady of the D
My success letter took 4 weeks but that was over Easter so probably in real terms 3 weeks. That was back in April but I still don't have a start date. All my checks have been done just now waiting for 'the call'.
Good luck - I hope yours doesn't take too long.0 -

Hi hurryupDWP
Very apt name for this thread. I'm not waiting for South Wales but I am still waiting for 'the call' like you.
Did you ask for your position on the merit list? Even though you have been informed successful (no waiting list) I believe there is still a merit list where the ones at the top get placed sooner than those lower down.0
