Hi Chi Chi, you heard anything yet? I haven't:mad:. I'm going to try to progress things on Monday, but am starting to put a lot of effort into looking for other jobs now. It really is beyond ridiculous how they've carried on. As others have said, considering they put so much emphasis on customer service and high performance, they don't demonstrate it themselves. It has now been 4 months since my EO interview and 2 and a half since my 2 AO interviews, and I have heard precisely nothing concrete about any of them.

    :mad::mad: Absolutely RIDICULOUS.

    Hi Lili,

You have had such a mess of it with DWP I don't blame you for looking hard into other jobs now.. And I hate to say this, but it doesn't sound good if you haven't received your CRB back from them yet.. as one receptionist told me "they receive hundreds of forms each day" and I can't help but think that a lot of these never reach their intended destinations.

Definitely keep the phone ringing until they answer on Monday.. if they don't put you straight through, ring them back in an hour and continue until you can talk to someone... those were my tactics after 3 days of waiting for them to call me back! Usually you will get through to someone much nicer who is willing to help.

I had lost all morale with job application forms and interviews as I have applied for so many over the last year and got nowhere... so I was hoping that the DWP would be my saving grace. My graduation is coming up from uni and I am dreading having to tell all my classmates and lecturers that I am still unemployed.

With regards to my DWP saga... I am no longer sure if my case is the exception or the rule!.. Just to update again.. DWP lost my SECOND set of CRB forms AS WELL as the first set, so this set never even reached Scotland!! I was also given a direct line through to the team manager, (who is a very nice man, working hard to put things right), but this phone number did not work either!

When I did get hold of him, he said again that he would try and get my CRB sorted and then pass me over to the vacancy holders and this is as far as I have got... he said I would hear something in a week... two weeks later.. still nothing.

I have been chasing up Newcastle since April and everytime I have been told that I will know something or hear something in a week or two week's time... this is what has been keeping me hooked the whole time.. so far the weeks have turned into over 4 months from success letter to now...

Also for anyone who knows...How do I get hold of the phone number for the vacancy holder in my area (IRC56344 Essex)? The thought of having to ring Newcastle again to fight it out of their receptionists is a little daunting right now.. is that the only way and do they give the number out easily or will I have to fight for it as always? I just want to know if my details have been passed over or not.

Sorry for such a long post... so much to vent...

    Good luck everyone xx

    Hiya mommarat, new poster.

I'm in the exact same situation. Got my successful letter without waiting list on 22nd April for the same IRC. After numberous phone calls, got nowwhere. The woman in Newcastle said that there is nothing she can do as she doesnt personally do the checks which was rude. Apprarently, im still having my emplyement checked. Bit of A p***take. Well near enough 3 months and waiting.
You are the first I have heard from who is on my IRC hopefully we should hear in the next couple of weeks as they have advertised the AO jobs again and I have been told our list is with the post holder now whoever they are. Where have you applied for?

Found out my papers have been processed and sent to the local job manager. Just trying to get hold of them now.

Oh I can almost see a light at the end of this tunnel.

Thanks LV. I will. When I get the magic start date, there'll be big type-face, an explosion of emoticons, the whole works. :D

The phone is ringing unanswered at the moment. Early days though. I'll keep trying.

    Hi!

I went for my DWP interview on Wednesday (1st July) and I'm just wondering when I could expect a letter letting me know if I have been successful or not.

I know that the post I applied for starts at the end of August so I'm just curious really. How long were you waiting for a letter/call?

    Thanks :)

hello everyone i am a first time poster (long time lurker) and i find myself in the same boat as many of you...awaiting 'THE CALL'

I recieved my successful letter (no waiting list) on the 15th may and as yet have heard nothing, i have phoned newcastle last week and they tried to fob me off with old 'the crb/disclosure can take 6 weeks to come back' line. even though disclosure scotland say they now turn around a basic check in 5 days!?

well, i phoned disclosure scotland and they have told me they sent my crb to the DWP on the 9th june and could even give me the name of who they sent it to, i have since tried to contact this person but he is on holiday apparantlly..great. All i can get out of them is i should here something very soon.

this is driving me crazy i am living of the redundency money from my previous job and it won't last for ever!

Is anyone else on here waiting for a start date in the south wales area for AO

(if your worried about your crb get in touch with disclosure scotland and if you give them you name and date of birth they can tell you when and who they have sent it to)

DWP have had mine for a month and still not heard anything, i thought this was the final check !! AAAAaRRRRGGH my head hurts from the deafening silence of the phone
