DWP employment waiting list

I totally understand where you are comming from. I suppose I am lucky in one way I have a job until my new one starts but I hate my current job and trying to motivate myself week in week out then month after month is very hard.:easter: maybe we will hear by then.
The way this is going, the DWP job is going to be one I hate. Even if I enjoy helping members of the public and interpreting rules (two things I have done much of and am fab at), I doubt I will enjoy being at the mercy of this system. If the modus operandi of Newcastle pervades the rest of DWP it will be a soul-destroying environment.:idea:0 -
Hi Everyone
I called Newcastle today (Sunday) on the off chance there was someone in and there was!!! Valerie bless her must be working all sorts of hours! Again no solid information other than i would hear very soon, crb is the last check, if there was something missing i would have been called etc etc. Valerie did say that the checking team are doing over 7000 peoples checks at the moment which may be the hold up!!
I guess its just sit and wait time still. I really dont want to call again as i always get valerie who is absolutely lovely but even she may get annoyed at some point.
Good luck to everyone still waiting for 'the call' and hopefully it may be this week (fingers crossed, and toes and eyes by this point!)0 -
They are recruiting for AO's again in my area so hopefully I should hear about my EO job soon - before I go mad!0

Any HEOs-to-be been given a firm start date yet?0

Lets have a competition - no prize though sorry - who has been waiting the longest since their success letter mine was 25th April for EO any earlier than this?
Hiya mommarat, new poster.
I'm in the exact same situation. Got my successful letter without waiting list on 22nd April for the same IRC. After numberous phone calls, got nowwhere. The woman in Newcastle said that there is nothing she can do as she doesnt personally do the checks which was rude. Apprarently, im still having my emplyement checked. Bit of A p***take. Well near enough 3 months and waiting.0 -
To All Waiting...... just my opinion but
It appears to me that whether you received a plain successful or successful waiting letter the HR people in Newcastle do not start the CRB & employment checks until the area your job is in are ready to place a batch of recruits. So if say the Liverpool area are close to requiring say 60 recruits they ask HR to start the checks. Once the checks are complete the area is contacted and told they have been done. When the area people have the space etc (still could be a couple of weeks later) they ask for the details of first 60 people on the merit list. The area then contact the names on the list in merit order offering them the job. This is now refered to on this forum as 'the call'. This is what we are all waiting for.
Hope this makes sense and is only my opinion.0 -

Hi lilsweetie
I wouldn't worry - they're obviously cool about it. Just go tomorrow and it will get sorted out.
Good luck for tomorrow0 -

Not sure I agree with this line of thought because how come there are a lot of people on here who have had their checks completed some weeks if not month ago and they are still waiting. Also I know of one other person on my recruitment exercise who had his checks completed weeks ago and because Newcastle forgot about 9 of the applications (during the move left in the old office) checks were not done until about 2 weeks ago. We are now all waiting, waiting, waiting etc and in the meantime they are re-advertising for the self same jobs!!!!0
