Congrats vistaz86- I have just received the result of the third exercise I took part in, which is the one I really wanted. `Successful, now undertaking pre-employment enquiries` These have already been completed from a previous exercise, so hopefully will not be long now! In this heat, I will willingly work from 1am to 9am- howz about that then. Good luck to all of you either waiting to start, or waiting to hear. Hope the call comes soon! It has all been an extraordinary journey, and I have nicknamed it the `DWP Yellow Brick Road`. Could the Tin Man be yet to come??
  • I think we have the same success letter dates i.e. 26th April. How did you find out about hearing something in two weeks?

Hi Newgirl, you should get a call soon hopefully.

I spoke to you a few weeks ago, we have the same IRC number. After writing on here and getting frustrated when calling up Newcastle and not getting any help. I got a call from Newcastle last week to send my CRB, which i didnt have. I then called DS and they said my CRB was in the post, which i got the next day. I called newcastle again to see if i needed to fax it. They said no, they have already seen it, my checks have cleared and an email was sent to a manger at the Job Centre to give me a start date. That was las Wednesday/Thursday i think.

I got a call this Monday confirming I could start, and had to choose from certain areas..I start on the 17th August wooohoooo, its so far away because i have to work my 4 week notice, then going on holiday for 2 weeks. So you should get a call soon, or call Newcastle again.

Fingers crossed for you...its been such a long waiting time.

Thanks for this info :D. I faxed my crb in last week so i am hoping for a call soon. Last time i called Newcastle they said they would only call if something was missing i.e. crb and could not tell me if all of my checks were cleared so i will just hold on a bit more. You are right it has been such a long wait... my success letter was dated 11th April!!!!! I think people are starting to think i am making this job up! lol.

Godd luck for when you start and well done :T

    Hello...

Has anyone who has been given a start date had any paperwork in the post to confirm this? I got 'the call' last Tuesday and was told by the lady on the phone they would send some out but they haven't...

So it seems I'm still waiting...
  • Hiu Kath,

    What does your instinct say?

I suppose it depends if you take the EO position and it comes to an end in 18 months what then! Will it be easy for you to get another job?

If you take the AO at least it is permanent albeit a few thousand pounds a year less and you always have theoption of going for another permanent EO post.

I suppose at the end of the day can you live with a few thousand pounds less? If you can then opt for the AO.

    O what a delimena.
