I've never known it take as long for applicants to be started as in this intake. However, I've also never known external applicants come in as HEO's, so I'm not surprised they're taking their time over those.
It's hard enough for external entrants coming in as EO's, often with unhappy existing (experienced) staff who failed to get the job having to work under them or even train them. I would think this is magnified with an HEO.Fokking Fokk!0 -

Just wondered whether the main majority of people here have applied for fixed term posts or permanent? Also does anyone heard of someone who's fixed term post has been made permanent or what the likelihood is of it happening?
Thanks
Anyone able to give me some guidance on this? Thanks0 -
Still waiting on IRC57184 in Birmingham, has anyone else heard yet?
I got my crb last week and then faxed it to Newcastle, i called them the next day and they confirmed they had received it. I called at the end of the week as i had an interview today in London and the company interviewing me were paying alot of money for travel and hotel etc and so i did not want to go if i was going to take a job from dwp. I called newcastle and spoke to a man this time who was unhelpful and said that i should go for the interview as the checks were now taking 30-40 days and there is a possibility of going back onto a waiting list????? Is this right?? i hope not!!!
Just wondering if anyone else can shed some light? my references have not been contacted but i have been working at the same place for 2.5 years so the other checks were probably pretty simple and i may not need to have references. Any help appreciated
Hi Newgirl, you should get a call soon hopefully.
I spoke to you a few weeks ago, we have the same IRC number. After writing on here and getting frustrated when calling up Newcastle and not getting any help. I got a call from Newcastle last week to send my CRB, which i didnt have. I then called DS and they said my CRB was in the post, which i got the next day. I called newcastle again to see if i needed to fax it. They said no, they have already seen it, my checks have cleared and an email was sent to a manger at the Job Centre to give me a start date. That was las Wednesday/Thursday i think.
I got a call this Monday confirming I could start, and had to choose from certain areas..I start on the 17th August wooohoooo, its so far away because i have to work my 4 week notice, then going on holiday for 2 weeks. So you should get a call soon, or call Newcastle again.
Fingers crossed for you...its been such a long waiting time.0 -

I could easily do til 8. I understand why people who were lead to believe otherwise are very cross. If I had obligations, so would I be. But if someone said 12 til 8, I'd be made up. Especially if it was all down to flexi and I did 9-8 some nights and had days off. That would be ideal for me.:idea:0
