DWP employment waiting list

Blimey! It's all happening now.
I've had "The Call" - the very nice lady wanted me to start on Monday which I cannot manage, however she very much put my mind at rest about starting on the next intake 4 weeks later.
8 weeks training! Wow!
:T:cool::D
Well done Orb on getting 'the call'.
What has happened since and which office have you got? I am on the same recruitment excercise as you and I'm still waiting for 'the call'. All my checks have been cleared I understand but I must be further down the list than you:(.0 -
have eventually started at DWP applied in february got was sucessful got call 8 weeks ago and started last week however still not had contract but am told not to worry and also been told is fixed term till oct 2010 but advert said 18 month fixed term so they also have to sort this out but other than that all is well and enjoying the civil service.

In my office, we've had several people start who we thought were on 18-month fixed-term contracts, but we've discovered they have all been made permanent EO's, so it's entirely possible.Fokking Fokk!0 -
Can anyone who has received feedback after a written request confirm how long it took. It's been nearly 3 weeks since I sent my letter and I haven't received anything. I thought my interview went really well so I would like to know where I went wrong as I have a few more interviews coming up..Having read all those posts it wouldn't suprise me if it turns out that they sent me the wrong letter..lol0

Hi mvenge
My personal ref was contacted a month ago, by the tax office I think, and now again by DWP email. Do you know any reason why this might be?0 -

I'm afraid not, I really have no intimate knowledge of the HR process. Maybe the Tax Office was to check employment dates matched?Fokking Fokk!0 -
Yes I was self employed so could be that, just took me back a bit I thought it meant things were moving forward a month ago, silly boy....0

I was self employed & received a call from the DWP asking if I'd worked for myself....
I was also told that my CRB check was still with DS but when I called DS today was told that it had been sent back to DWP at the beginning of June....I've requested a copy to be sent to me instead.
Has anyone else here, apart from Aoki, heard anything about the Central London positions0 -
Hello...
Has anyone who has been given a start date had any paperwork in the post to confirm this? I got 'the call' last Tuesday and was told by the lady on the phone they would send some out but they haven't...
So it seems I'm still waiting...
I started on 15th June and have no paperwork to speak of, although I am now on the IT systems.“I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.”
