I did an online test for an HEO role on 20th June and have heard back this morning. I have an interview next Wednesday, which means they are keeping to the timeframes detailed on the job spec.

Got the call today and i start Monday in the Southampton branch. So relieved, didnt think this day would ever come! Good luck to everyone still waiting, i know how hard it is but it does happen eventually x

I would tend to go along with what you say about waiting list. I had an interview in late April for AO position, and was told that they were looking for people to go on a waiting list. I received success letter/waiting list mid May. Within 5 weeks I was offered start at my 1st choice on that exercise. Went to my second exercise, passed, waiting list letter, nothing since. Did my 3rd, and final exercise, which is my home county, and the one I really want, and received success letter yesterday. This time, no waiting list, just straight into undertaking pre-employment enquiries. Couple of little items I would like to add at this stage. There was a previous mention about success letters being held back until after the pay rise on July 1st. This would appear to be true, as my letter was dated 24th June, and I received it 1st July. Second point, is that in this letter, in Big Bold Type, is that employment verification for the last 3 years would be sought from HMRC. This was not mentioned on previous success letters, and tends to suggest that the DWP have started advising applicants at this stage, just who they will be checking with, about previous employment. My own personal opinion, and it is only my opinion, is that everybody is on a waiting list, and it comes down to how great the demand & supply is, in a given area. Good luck by the way!:T

I had to phone the team leader who was dealing with my specific IRC in order for me to receive my feedback, it is a really important thing to have as it has enabled me to view the actual criteria that the interviewers are looking for in the actual interview, it has also enabled me to see where I went wrong in the interview.
I havent applied for any more DWP vacancies as I was always in employment ' but fancied a little change', I may apply again in future though.

I wouldn't attempt to tackle another DWP interview until you have received your feedback from your initial interview, this is because the DWP look for specific criteria during interview, and if you failed to mention them in your first interview you could end up not mentioing them in your subsequent interviews, and fail those aswell.

I think they are just overwhelmed with the amount of recruits they are dealing with. Just look at the amount of posters on here that have applied for jobs.
I know it's frustrating - I'm in exactly the same boat as you IRC57875. I got an email on the 25th June asking for a copy of my CRB certificate - which had been sent to my home address (I didn't know it could be sent straight to Newcastle). Since then I have spoken to them and they have told me my checks are in order and it's just a case of waiting for a phone call - more waiting :huh:

The lady was lovely, told me she had called Bolton and advised she was offering me this position. Asked if I had formally accepted Bolton, I advised yes I should start Monday - she said well, to safeguard yourself, start on Monday as AO, its permanent contract and tell them you're taking the offered temp placement with us. That way in 18 months time is EO is not made perm you can drop down to AO again as you'll be on system as permenent for this role.
She did say however to be warned that Bolton will not be impressed.

I hate to think I'm messing them about, but Bolton had originally called me before Easter and advised I'd be starting end of April, so I stopped job searching for that month!!!!

As far as I can see this is a 'win win' situation for you :beer: . Don't worry about what Bolton will say - you won't be there long enough and it's YOU that matters anyway.
Make sure you update us on Monday after your first day.
