Today I visited my local JCP and had a word with a PA there who advised me to put the DWP job "on the back burner" I asked if there was anyway she could look into it and clarify what exactly is going on and all she could say was "well its not really anything to do with me"

I was very close to displaying the sort of behaviour that gets you forcibly removed from the building!! Luckily I kept my composure and left knowing no more than when I went in. This is incredibly frustrating now.

Out of interest is anyone other than myself and JulietOrmesby on recruitment exercise IRC58380 Norfolk area?

    Hi Julie
This must be so frustrating for you!! After all you've been through to now see the jobs advertised again - you must be  . I'm sure you're already on the phone to Newcastle to see what's going on. Surely this must mean that they're ready to give you a position. Fingers crossed.
    Keep us all posted.

    Morning Guys,
Well, had another call from Manchester, they've offered me Eccles for my posting. It's not too bad, about 40 minutes travelling time (I think) from home, so alls good.

Start in Bolton Monday, off to hospital now to have screw removed from ankle!

All of a sudden after being housebound in plaster for 2 months and searching for a job for 5 months, my life is crazy!

    Kath.x

    Hi Kath
Let us know how you get on Monday especially how they react to you accepting the higher post at Eccles. But remember not to let that bother you too much after all this is about YOU not them.
    Good luck for Monday :D

I think you will find you will be interviewing till 8

I used to teach evening classes, so wouldn't mind doing this.

Do you thing the advertised opening times will change, or is it targeted to specific clients? Looking around, the latest opening time to the public for a JCP I could find was 6:00.

8:00 only mentioned in the DWP job description so far to my knowledge.

If anyone finds a later one advertised let me know!

    Hi all

Just wondering if anyone else is still waiting for the Merseyside positions who attended the interview day on 16th April? Everyone else seems to have start dates but me now!

More anxious than ever now haha!

    Hi zuccini
I think it's a sign of the times. The DWP don't want to re-open their closed centres therefore the only way of dealing with the influx of new people is to open the current ones for longer hours. In a few weeks JCP offices will start to open 8 till 8 then if it gets worse they will open on Saturdays as well  .

Phoned Newcastle this morning for an update on my checks and was told everything was completed and the paperwork had been passed over to the person in charge for this exercise.

    Timescale
4/5/09 success letter no waiting list
    13/5/09 literacy/numeracy tests
    14/5/09 role plays
16/6/09 received DS to my home address
16/6/09 sent Newcastle copy of DS
    19/6/09 employer contacted for reference
    23/6/09 Newcastle received DS

Last couple of days the paperwork passed back to person dealing with exercise who will now be in touch with me. I am carrying a fully charged spare phone battery just to be on the safe side.

    Hi
    I'm puzzled
How come you got your success letter before you had even taken your tests and why did you have a role play instead of interview? I see from your previous posts that your job is for an EO position.
    Just wondering!
