DWP employment waiting list

Today I visited my local JCP and had a word with a PA there who advised me to put the DWP job "on the back burner" I asked if there was anyway she could look into it and clarify what exactly is going on and all she could say was "well its not really anything to do with me"
I was very close to displaying the sort of behaviour that gets you forcibly removed from the building!! Luckily I kept my composure and left knowing no more than when I went in. This is incredibly frustrating now.
Out of interest is anyone other than myself and JulietOrmesby on recruitment exercise IRC58380 Norfolk area?0 -

Just to update you, I have received a letter confirming my fixed term post, my training is at Edge Hill, Job Centre Liverpool for 3 weeks. No mention of hours or salary etc in the letter.
Interesting...wonder whether they are running separate training operations in L'pool, Wirral and outer Merseyside etc - it's a big area.
I guess since it's a confirmation letter rather than the contract they will go into all that when we start.
Just looked at a similar ad on the current DWP Vacancies page and it did mention the 8-8 weekday and 9-5 Saturday hours, can't remember if it was the same for our ad.
Don't mind mucking in at busy times and doing some evenings (easier to say in the summer of course!), but wonder what sort of work one would be doing as a customer-facing EO after hours? Would that not reduce the time spent with the customer? I'll worry about that when/if it happens.0 -

Hi all,
Just got a call from someone (who I used to work with at DWP, who now does recruitment for the area). I have got my 3rd choice of location, which is actually benefit delivery and start training on 13th July. She says it's a "proper training course" (many people had great difficulty with the previous training, as she's aware, because it was comprehensive training on one aspect of the work and very little on other aspects which we had to work out for ourselves). I asked her and she said they have over-recruited for my first 2 choices of office so there is no point hanging out for these. I know someone who works there as an AO, we shared a leaving do.
Anyway, closing date 6 April, tests 30 April, interview 6 May, call 2 July, start 13 July = 3 months

:jCongratulations Pansalar, hope it goes well. Which were your choices? I believe that I was on that exercise Leics/Northants. I was never given a preference sheet, but informed Newcastle that I would only consider Rushden/Wellingborough/Northampton, in that order. However, since then, I have been successful in the exercise that I really wanted Beds/Herts, and they are undertaking pre employment enquiries, no mention of a waiting list. I believe Naz was on that Leics/Northants also. Good luck, you are starting on my birthday!!:rotfl:
I will be at Wellingborough, my 1st choice was Kettering, 2nd Corby (& 4th Market Harborough) so you may be lucky with Wellingborough or Rushden, fingers crossed.0 -

I think they are just overwhelmed with the amount of recruits they are dealing with. Just look at the amount of posters on here that have applied for jobs.
I know it's frustrating - I'm in exactly the same boat as you IRC57875. I got an email on the 25th June asking for a copy of my CRB certificate - which had been sent to my home address (I didn't know it could be sent straight to Newcastle). Since then I have spoken to them and they have told me my checks are in order and it's just a case of waiting for a phone call - more waiting
Which office are you hoping for?
Hi LS
I am hoping for Stockport. What other centres is 57875 applicable to?
i have found out that all my checks are in order which is a real relief. I am stuck to the phone now as i feel that as soon as I am away I will miss the call. it is also reassuring that someone from the same exercise is in the same boat as i feel now that I have not been forgotten.
