Kennington certainly seems to be the slowest of all. I am still waiting to hear about an AO post and I did the interview on 28 April. Someone else was saying the same earlier in the thread.

    Hello,

I had my interview/assessment day on 16th April in Carlisle for an EO position in Barrow. I've had my disclosure scotland back and they have contacted my references but I'm still waiting. I never knew it would take this long!

A couple of friends who interviewed for AO positions a month after I had mine, have their start dates already.

I guess different grades and areas are dealt with differently...??

Im thinking since they have everything they need i should hear something soon!
    Fingers crossed!!

    Hi All,

It is now becoming a requirement for new starters to work shifts between 8am-8pm to meet customer needs etc...so most/nearly all new staff depending on which jc+/bdc will have to work between these hours as it recently has been brought up that offices will have to remain till 8pm( dont quote me on this but entirely depends on the location you will be at)

    good luck all!

I have not been told I will work BETWEEN these hours, I have been told that I will permanantly work until 8pm 3 times a week. There was NO CHOICE in hours I can work.

Oooh now thats harsh! it normally 1 day a week to work till 8pm not 3 days a week! raise a grievance with your CSO/union rep/line manager!!

I only started today! yep its 3 permanant days until 8pm every week, and 2 days 9 til 5. we were told that this will start in september so I have daily hours until then but those are my contracted hours.
  • Successfully passed the interview stage back in March but am on the waiting list still waiting for the call. Mine is an EO post for a fixed term of 18 months. Just wondered whether the main majority of people here have applied for fixed term posts or permanent? Also does anyone heard of someone who's fixed term post has been made permanent or what the likelihood is of it happening?

    Thanks

    Twitterer,
I feel so bad for you, it's disgusting what they've done! I have had NO paperwork regarding my working hours, only a call to say start date is 6th July. I have had no paperwork regarding anything. I'm starting as an AO in Bolton and back in March when I applied for this job there was definitely nothing on there that stated working until 8pm.
I know we all really need these jobs, but I think the DWP need to review their handling of some on the situations, they are almost abusing their position because they know how desperate we all are for employment. **Shakes head***

    Hugs to you Twitterer.
