Hi Snowy, I have just had a phone call offering me a full-time role EO role in JCP. I explained that I only wanted to work 9 -3 as I needed to pick the children up from school. The Gentlemen I spoke to said that it was a full-time position and he would have to speak to the business and get to me and this wouldn't be until next week, he said looking at it he would probably have to look at other people on the list. The advert for the job said part-time hours would be considered. As I didn't want to let this job go I asked if I could accept the role first and then he could speak with the business regarding my hours. He agreed and I start the training on 6th July. My question to you is what am I best doing to ensure I get the hours I need ? Thanks for your help.

I currently work for the DWP as an AO work school hrs, I had my offer for EO this week, and was told that it was a full time position, no negotation on part time. Not looking forward to working full time again, but have accepted it rather than lose the job.

I am going on holiday 15th July for 2 weeks, and am worried i wont hear until I am away! anyone from these intakes got a start date, and if so do you know what your position was?
Hi Sirena You can ring them up and let them know you are going on holiday, I did and they noted it. You can also leave a mobile number in case they do need to contact you whilst you are away. I was told I am 18th on list for Merseyside, but my checks have not cleared yet. Others have training dates who were further down the list than me. I agree that they will be taking on everyone on the list as they have now readvertised. Let us know if you hear anything.

It varies from area to area.

Did you leave your mobile number with your local area or with Newcastle - cant say Newcastle fill me with confidence, I have had to provide them with the same info more than once, and they still dont seem to record it.

Speak to Kelly or Carolyn at Newcastle - they seem to me to be very good. Explain your concerns about what has happened so far and ask them to confirm that they have made a note of your holiday and mobile number as you are worried.
• Afternoon all,

I'm on the waiting list for the Greater Manchester region for an EO role which I was interviewed for in March 09. I contacted Newcastle and they told me that I was 98th on the waiting list ... doh! However I received an email this morning from Newcastle stating that they haven't recieved my CRB Certificate from Scotland yet and when I recieve it I should forward a copy to them ASAP.
Does this mean that they have requested a CRB check but simply haven't recieved it yet? Will I recieve a copy?
Does this mean that I closer to being offered a placement?

If anyone is in a similar situation or has any advice on the matter I would greatly appriciate it.

Thanks!

Hey nemok81,

When DWP sent off your CRB form, they ought to have kept a reference number for it. Find out what it is and contact the CRB folk at info@disclosurescotland.co.uk. Give them your name and ref number and they should let you know if they received your form. They can even tell you if they have already posted your certificate to DWP. A friend of mine contacted disclosure Scotland giving merely their name and DOB and she managed to get the info she needed.

If you didn't put the Newcastle address as your current address on the CRB form it will go directly to your home address. If you did and it does go directly to Newcastle, they will send you a copy. You can ring Disclosure Scotland to see where it is at. If Newcastle are waiting for your CRB check, they surely are about to offer you a role. I think I read somewhere that they only send off for this when they know they are able to post you as it costs money.
