:D Blimey! It's all happening now.

I've had "The Call" - the very nice lady wanted me to start on Monday which I cannot manage, however she very much put my mind at rest about starting on the next intake 4 weeks later.

    8 weeks training! Wow!

    :T:cool::D
  • I applied for 2 eo positions and am starting on monday for the 2nd one i applied for, 1 week ago i received a letter stating that the recruitment team for newcastle, sunderland, durham ,peterlee, crook, bishop auckland, and on,and on which i assume you were part of when you said sunderland wanted me to tick a list of places i would travel to from my location near boro, they sent me this letter due to the fact i was on the tees valley waiting list(1st eo position i applied for) and wanted me to consider other areas, i informed them i was already starting but this seems strange why they are trying to add more people to these waiting lists

Hi there, Sorry I'm a bit confused, so are you starting EO role in Tees Valley or Sunderland area? I have heard that South Tyne & Wear are due to commence more recruitment once the current waiting list is cleared (advised this when signing on) as they don't have enough people on the current waiting list, however they are going to clear the waiting list first. I would love to hear from anyone on the South Tyne & Wear EO list IRC58395 who has been lucky enough to receive the call with a start date in JCP, just to gauge some kind of timescale for me !! Anyone out there? :) !!

I have had the call! I was postion 73 on the merit/waiting list for my area so didn't expect it so soon. Interview 29th April, waiting list letter 16th May. They asked when i could start, which would normally be 'can i come now' but i have just gone and booked a holiday! luckily they said I can start on 20th July, told me they will write to confirm but to just turn up at 9.30 on the day if i haven't heard anything..

So Janeway, hello i will be your new collegue! You can let me know what the training is like!

And for all you still waiting, things are happening now. Think the ao postions are quicker to fill as they start us before are checks complete.

It is for the Cambridge/Suffolk recruitment drive. My position is in Cambridge, which was my second choice after Ely, but beggars can't be choosers lol

Hi I have had a succesful letter for IRC58361 and my position is 44 (Merseyside)
also had a waiting list letter from IRC58399 (Warrington & Cheshire)
my CRB check came directly to me (dont know why!) and I was asked to send it to Salford who returned it to me, I was then asked to send it to Newcastle (telephoned last saturday) I am going on holiday 15th July for 2 weeks, and am worried i wont hear until I am away! anyone from these intakes got a start date, and if so do you know what your position was?
I assume everyone on these waiting lists will get offered a position as they are readvertising jointly for Merseyside/Warrington & Cheshire at the moment.

    Applied 17th March
    Tests 16th April
    Interviews both 18th April
Waiting list letter IRC 58399 28th April
    Successful letter IRC58361 6th May
I received CRB check 5th June sent to Salford 8th June
Newcastle requested CRB check on 20th June
    Still waiting for start date

    Hiya

Im in exactly the same position as you for the Merseyside vacancy...still no word. My holiday is in August so I have a feeling I will have to wait until after that...

Where did you put for your preferences?

I'm going for a back to work interview tomorrow at the dole. I am going to INSIST that they ring their own people to hurry things up for me. I'm going to make it the tone and focus of the interview. I'm going to tell them the whole sorry tale from start to finish and they can't get out of listening. If anyone has ever read that wonderful poem 'the Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner', I will be the greybeard loon and they will be the wedding guest. Except that I will not leave until I've got some answers.

Time for them to put their money where their mouth is.

Good idea, let me know if it works I have a new deal interview at my local JC next week and if it is possible for the staff there to hurry it along then I will follow your lead and turn my interview into a DWP recruitment strategies inquest!
