Hello everyone, is anybody else on the forum having issues with IRC58265 (South London)?

I'm waiting on that one. I had a success letter last Tuesday, nothing since though, but from reading this forum i wasn't expecting to be given a start date or have any contact just yet. How far are you with the progress?
One day I will be a [STRIKE]respectable[/STRIKE] Civil Servant.
Until then, I will be a secret MSE poster :shhh:

Congrats to all who've just got 'the call'.

I got a few days working as a film extra today. I hope it's a harbinger of luck to come. I shall have to put my phone on silent on set.

Heh, I can't say just now, we're not allowed to discuss it in detail. Let's just say, a major blockbuster. I went and stood in an auditions queue for 8 hours in Jan and was beginning to think it was a waste of time. Crikey, they could show the DWP a thing or two about waiting lists!!!

I'm only a crowd scene extra and I doubt I'll make much money out of it. I've never done anything like this before though so am quite excited.

But don't worry, it's only for a few days. I'll be back moaning, griping and fretting about DWP before you know it.

Or will I? Maybe I'll get spotted and become a big star?? :rotfl:Well, I won't hold my breath about that!

I spoke to a chap in Newcastle this morning. He seemed ok, if a little distant. I just wanted to make sure that all my paperwork was in and up to scratch - I don't want to be in the position of thinking that my CRB is in their hands only to find they'd lost it.

He took some details and said he'd phone back.

    Guess what......

I can never get through Orb. I just found out that my local jobcentre has taken on staff internally which seems a bit naughty although i suppose it could have been arranged some time ago.

    Congratulations on your success!! :)

However these posts are starting to depress me a little, my success (not waiting list) letter was dated 26th April and still nothing! I really need to hear something soon, have just had to declare my car off road as I cant afford the tax and MOT. :(

    Thanks Superthing
I'm sorry to hear how down you have been. I know how you are feeling right now as I was having quite a rough time myself. You're right about saying that these posts can be abit depressing but least you know you are not alone. I feel that it has really helped me. Will still be reading these posts to see how everyone is getting on.
Good luck and let me know how it goes with you. Try to keep smiling :D

Most jobcentres take on a mixture of internal and external candidates for EO positions. Bear in mind, though, that internal staff often have to go for the external route in as well as 'outsiders'. As far as I know, offices like to have a mixture, so that you don't end-up with one office full of brand new advisers and another full of experienced ones, presumably because this would create an uneven playing field, performance-wise.
