    Whoop whoop....................

Got my call yesterday for a start date for the 29th June in Southampton. So glad to finally get off my butt and start working again. Been out of work for 6 months.

    Assessment Day 28th April
    Interview Day 29th April
    Successful Letter 12th May

Its been a long tearful wait and I'm glad its all over now. I'm keeping everything crossed for all of you who are still waiting. Hopefully it wont be too long now till you receive that call.

Thank you for everyone's support, if it wasnt this thread I think i would've gone mad by now.

    Love and kisses to all

    :T Well done.

I have been trying for a job for 18 months with not even an interview, so I know how it feels when you get 'that' call.

Has anyone on the site been given a start on 57875 as my HR Officer seems suicidal and has taken to answering every query with "we will contact you when we get a vacancy". No more, no less.

Hi Jim - I'm EO on IRC57875 too, and I'm in the same boat - interviews at Man City same as you.

I wouldn't be too concerned about what KathB said regarding Manchester vacancies - for a start they tell everyone a different story, and also Old Trafford would be for central Manchester and environs from what I can tell. As far as I'm aware the Man City people were all from places like Oldham, Rochdale, Bury and outlying towns etc.

    Good luck!
  • Hi everyone

Just to let you know I received my CRB in the post yesterday.

Did you send yours to the address on your 'success' letter or did you fax it to the number?

The phone number on my letter just won't stop ringing and the switchboard don't even know who the person that sent me the letter is!! I don't want it to get lost in the post or go to the wrong place!!

Thank you for your help!! :)

    Hi there,
I am so pleased as I had 'the call' yesterday at 5.15pm! I start 16th July and am so relieved as I was getting to a point where I was giving up hope of this job every happening.
Time scales - Interview 28th February
Success with waiting list letter 16th
    March
    Call 23rd June!
Best of luck to everybody who is still waiting, my advice is don't give up hope, it is a long process. This thread has been so helpful and I would like to thank everybody for their comments and advice.
    Cheers and gone!

    Hiya

I sent it to the fax no on the top of my pre recruitment checks letter. I had phoned and that’s the number they told me to use. They told me to address it to the person who sent you the letter. I did it last night and phoned this morning to check it had been received and it had and has been passed to the checking team. Hope this helps :)
  • Hi NewGirl82

Thank you for your post - I shall fax a copy to the number on my letter.

I just worry as nobody answers the telephone number, so it makes me wonder if they'll answer the fax number too!!!

I think i'll post a copy as well, I don't feel happy sending the original in the post as I don't want it getting lost anywhere!!

Thank you for your help :)

The issue I have is if they start me after my holiday, I have not accrued enough days at my current job to cover my holiday and therefore I will have to go without pay during my holiday which I cannot afford to do.

Also, my employer knows I am leaving now and are asking me for a date so they can replace me....

I did not think this would be a problem when I applied for the position as it was over 3 months ago!!

    Keep me posted guys!

So you were hoping to already be in place and have your hols as a DWP employee - I see now.

Hopefully, if you can get the same start date as us your training will have finished before your booked holiday date and everything will be fine. Fingers crossed!
