DWP employment waiting list

Despite having qualifications coming out of my ears and all the best so called "cutting edge" skills etc this has been my only opportunity too - I've been looking as far away as France, Belgium and Germany. Where is the IT skills shortage they harp on about? It's absolutely soul destroying, not one single interview or even a sniff since before Christmas.
Everyone here who has gone through this process deserves a medal for their patience. :T0 -
Hi everyone, Im new to the thread but have been reading it for ages, while ive been waiting. Is anyone else waiting to hear back for the Birmingham EO posts IRC57184????0

Congratulations Janeway
I haven't had the call, but i'm a waiting list person so might be a little while longer
Will give them a ring tomorrow, as they may have a better idea now they are actually offering the positions out (and hopefully getting some of them turned down lol)
Cambridge is one of my choices, so maybe you can be my insider as to how many jobs there are!0 -
Hi
I am also waiting to hear about IRC57184 in Birmingham but I think it’s moving quickly at the moment (hopefully!!)
I had my literacy tests at the NEC on March 13th and then my interview on March 25th I think? I got a letter dated April 11th to say I was on a waiting list and they were interviewing until the end of April (apparently all 150 of us were put on a list to start with as there was an old batch of 40 people from the last time that they recruited that they needed to crb checks on and offer positions to first). I then got a letter on 29th May saying the pre recruitment checks were happening and i got my crb today which I faxed to the dwp.
It has taken a while but apparently there are definitely jobs for all 150 people on the list, it is just a matter of working their way down the list, 40 at a time. I am hoping that the crb is the last check (as it’s the one that needs to be paid for) and hopefully the start date will be soon!!0 -

How did you find out all this info??? Whenever I call through the woman I speak to sounds like she doesn't know what she is doin, and always says she will call me back (but never does). Or i get through to a rude man, who says he cant help me and takes a message to call back (but never does lol). I dont even know if my checks have actually been completed...my CRB has been sent to Scotland but I havent received a copy..Its starting to annoy me that I cant speak to someone..0 -
ha ha I don’t know? I speak to Valerie and she is always really helpful and nice? must be my posh brummie phone voice!! Admittedly she did say it would be months and months before they started doing the checks and i got a letter two weeks later but I wasn’t bothered about it being quicker obviously.
Call disclosure Scotland and give your name and they can tell you if your crb check is there and if it has been completed etc and where it is getting sent back to.
I know someone who works in one of the jobcentres and she said new people have been starting all the time recently so I am thinking they were the first batch and now we will start to get places. I have read on the forum that some HEO's for Birmingham have been given start dates in the middle of July so I am hoping we will start at the same time as they will be our managers etc and so maybe we will all get trained together... .maybe that’s just wishful thinking :rolleyes:0 -
Well now I am getting down about all this....
After hearing from everyone else on here about being offered Merseyside positions, I called the Merseyside office to be told that my CRB hasn't been received although I sent it myself 2 weeks ago.
I rang Newcastle to check if they have it and they said everything was done on my file and up to date.
My main concern is im going on holiday middle of August and I don't think they would start me knowing I have a holiday straight away. But at the same time, I really need to get started as soon as possible...
