  • Hi everyone,
It really is good to know that there are other people in the same boat as me.
I received a letter on 11th May stating I have been successful, but I haven't heard anything since.
I have read on here that you all received back your CRB in the post before they offered you a start date, I haven't received mine yet :(
Also the number I ring just keeps ringing, it's not even engaged!!
I am feeling a bit down about it all as to begin with I was really positive thinking I had a job and how it would be a great career for me, but now I feel like they're saying "Yes you have got a job, but you might not have... we'll let you know!!" It's so difficult especially as I am losing my current job soon!!!

    Don't get too down!

I got a start date yesterday after recieving my EO success letter on 7th May. To date, after three applications I have not recieved any DS forms back - I don't think it's definite policy in every area to send a copy back to you if you put the Newcastle address down (at least I don't think so).

I've been unemployed for a year now since redundancy last June - despite the waiting and the frustration of no news, DWP has been the only concrete opportunity that's emerged in that time.

Anyway, looking at the posts here from the last couple of weeks it seems that there is more activity in starting people - depending on which area you applied to, there could be dozens of candidates in the same boat waiting to be cleared and assigned a location. Here's hoping you hear soon!;)

ermm excuse me this isnt the end of the road - you still have to be a mse member and contribute - cant just go away like that - i didnt run away wen i got offered a post and am still here :P congrats btw :P you sound really happy and so you should...d wait is well worth it and when you get the call your heart skips a beat! lol good luck in ur new job..hope you enjoy it and whats wiv the extra large font? lol!!
:beer:I think the large font was due to me having imbibed somewhat considerably after `THE CALL` and I will still contribute to the site, and look forward to seeing everyone receiving similar news. It is a long journey, and from what I have read, well worth it at the end:T
  • I've just got a bit more information regarding the EO vacancies in Birmingham.

They won't start allocating positons for IRC58379 until September at the earliest, they are in the process of sorting out an earlier recruitment and won't be ready to start on this one until the previous one has been completed.

I know when I went for the tests at the NEC there were applicants there who had applied before Xmas, and one of the girls from JCP told them they were still working through those, but that was on 18th April!!!!!

    Anyone on here still waiting?
  • This is one, long thread. Anyway, long story short: I've been on a waiting list for an AO position (in Cardiff) since the 11th of December - the waiting lst lasts for 12 months, but I've not heard anything.

At the interview, I asked how many vacancies and waiting list spots there were and was told 13 places on the waiting list, so not as large as some of the waiting lists I've seen posted here.

Is it worth giving them a ring to see what the likelihood of getting a call up is, or should I just write this one off, seeing as I've been on the list for 7 months?

    Gosh, long thread indeed.
I've stated several times that I've been successful for EO positions and have actually got a start date for an AO position in Bolton. Has anyone else been offered a start in that office? Also I atteneded the recruitment day at Old Trafford, )cant think when it was and papers are in storage due to building works at home_ but I know it was months ago, this was quickly followed by another at the Reebok stadium, then another at Lancashire University.
Its a long process but I'm sure it will be worth it.

Congrats to everyone who has start dates/started so far. Lets' hope some time soon we all have achieved the same thing.

Hello! I've also been trawling this very informative site since receiving my "successful at interview" letter for IRC58699 (EO - South Wales) on 20 May.

Here are the series of events:

    Tests - 6 May 2009
    Interview - 10 May 2009
Successful at Interview Letter (no waiting list mentioned - only undertaking pre-recruitment checks) - 20 May

DS completed their checks on 10 June and sent info back to Newcastle the same day.

I have contacted Newcastle several times but the messasge is - "still in the checking process".

Has anyone got any information or update on IRC58699.

    Thanks.
