Hi Molly just wanted to say that I too am waiting for a start date for the Merseyside EO positions. I am also getting fed up with it all. I got a successful letter on 6 May, not a waiting list letter, when I rang to find out where I was on the merit list they told me that I am near the top, 22nd on the list of 132 so when checks are complete I should be one of the first to be posted. However I noticed yesterday that some people have already had a start date who were lower down on the list. When I rang them today they said they are waiting on my checks, however DS have told me they posted my CRB check to DWP early June. They told me again that I would be one of the first to be posted with me being near the top of the list and that so far only 1 person has been posted. I just don't know what to think anymore.

Hi Molly and And1978 - I was also told I was near the top of the list for Merseyside EO posts. I though was in a later batch of interviews (like Molly I think - 16 May). I was not expecting everything to be quick because of the checks. I rang yesterday to be told the checks are still ongoing. I am genuinely happy for those that have received training dates as they have been so supportive on this site. I wonder though as they were further down the list than I how this will work. Hopefully there will still be jobs in the locations I need by the time the checks are cleared!
On another note, I will miss my daily checks on here once I do eventually start but will look in at weekends to support those still waiting. Thanks to everyone for keeping us all posted.

Norfolk, my first choice is Kings Lynn (IRC58380) EO position. I last rang Newcastle 2 weeks ago and was told all my checks had all cleared just waiting for everyone else on the list (39 people) to clear and they were expected to that imminently and not to chase up for 2 weeks. Well its 2 weeks today so I am now going to ring them!!

I have tried a few times, and I have tried other numbers, one of which was just given to me by a nice young lady in a different department that I managed to get through to, all to no avail!! I have to pop out so will try again when I get home, hopefully will get a bit more luck then!!

    Hi,

Im new here but have been following for a couple of days.

I am also waiting on a start date for 58272. Got my letter saying they would be doing the checks (no mention of a witing list) but have not heard anything else.

Hi I am in the same boat as you. Received "sucess letter" for irc 58272 and going through pre-recruitment checks.
Called newcastle for update and was told that the checks take minimum of 20 days. Guess just a case of waiting it out.

    Whoop whoop....................

Got my call yesterday for a start date for the 29th June in Southampton. So glad to finally get off my butt and start working again. Been out of work for 6 months.

    Assessment Day 28th April
    Interview Day 29th April
    Successful Letter 12th May

Its been a long tearful wait and I'm glad its all over now. I'm keeping everything crossed for all of you who are still waiting. Hopefully it wont be too long now till you receive that call.

Thank you for everyone's support, if it wasnt this thread I think i would've gone mad by now.

    Love and kisses to all
