    Hello Naz,

DWP contacted one of my referees by email on Friday 19th. He has a checkable .ac.uk email address - not Hotmail!

I don't know if they split the list for checking though - we were only offered a choice of Northants locations (with Market Harborough thrown in) so I imagine there are 2 lists, Leics and Northants.

    Whoop whoop....................

Got my call yesterday for a start date for the 29th June in Southampton. So glad to finally get off my butt and start working again. Been out of work for 6 months.

    Assessment Day 28th April
    Interview Day 29th April
    Successful Letter 12th May

Its been a long tearful wait and I'm glad its all over now. I'm keeping everything crossed for all of you who are still waiting. Hopefully it wont be too long now till you receive that call.

Thank you for everyone's support, if it wasnt this thread I think i would've gone mad by now.

    Love and kisses to all

    Congratulations on your success!! :)

However these posts are starting to depress me a little, my success (not waiting list) letter was dated 26th April and still nothing! I really need to hear something soon, have just had to declare my car off road as I cant afford the tax and MOT. :(

Hang in there superthing, it's got to be soon, I am in the same position, EO successful(no waiting list) letter received via email May 7th. Have rung once a week since then with no news until June 9th when I had my location confirmed (Bromley, South London) I have not called again since but I will call again this week. I think my current employer is now beginning to doubt that I am actually leaving!!
It is frustrating having to spend a 'nervous' few weeks waiting but it seems we are not alone.
All the best and I will post with updated info as and when I get it.

The issue I have is if they start me after my holiday, I have not accrued enough days at my current job to cover my holiday and therefore I will have to go without pay during my holiday which I cannot afford to do.

Also, my employer knows I am leaving now and are asking me for a date so they can replace me....

I did not think this would be a problem when I applied for the position as it was over 3 months ago!!

    Keep me posted guys!
You could try asking JCP for an advance on your wages if you explain the situation

Your first month will be less than the following month but will still be paid on the last day of the month or the last friday if the last day is on a weekend

Norfolk, my first choice is Kings Lynn (IRC58380) EO position. I last rang Newcastle 2 weeks ago and was told all my checks had all cleared just waiting for everyone else on the list (39 people) to clear and they were expected to that imminently and not to chase up for 2 weeks. Well its 2 weeks today so I am now going to ring them!!
