DWP employment waiting list
Comments
-
I have just had a phone call from the checking team, who were chasing my DS (it is a withheld number btw).
I have been told that for my exercise (IRC58751, Park Inn Northampton) they referred the employment history checks to HMRC yesterday, turnaround time is 48 hours.
After this, referees would be contacted if HMRC check does not confirm.
They do seem to be on the case now!
I sincerely hope so for your sake. BUT in my instance HMRC contacted my empolyer 3 weeks ago by e-mail, employer responded immediately by e-mail and b y the way started advertising the current job!!! 2weeks ago personal referee contacted who replied immediately. Today they again contact my employer who is now asking what is going on!!! In the meantime employer is getting lots of applications for my job and I am not yet in a position to hand in my notice. O by the way was informed by DWP checking team some time ago that yes of course your CRB form has been sent, only to find out well no it hasn't, it was left on a pile in another office!!! But hey it was now sent last Friday!!! Interview was 17 April, success letter 26 April no waiting list.
To be honest if they had not contacted my employer and therefore put me in a embarrassing position I think I would be tempted to say sodthisforagameofsoldiers!!!
Still keep smiling there are plenty of us in this boat, question is where and when is it going!!!
Do not forget that becase they only offer jobs on a strict merit list anyone behind me is still waiting even if they have all their checks completed. Words of comfort I don't think.0 -
Good morning all
Just got a call offering me a position for Southampton, which is too far for me to travel (i didnt put this down). The woman said she would get back to me. Has anyone been offered a place that was too far for them to travel and turned it down to then get offered another place???
Thanks
Hello JoyJoy
Yes, last wednesday I was offered a place I didnt put down and then the following day I was offered my ideal location. Dont worry!
Nearly a week old now and things going ok. Two days in the office, bit of shadowing (although not a lot) and doing some "safety" exercises. Two days on a safety course. Been told that I will be doing one of two positions - either a personal advisor or customer service manager. from observing, id rather be an advisor but it sounds like I might have to bear the CSM job. Not that I mind too much - its just that I think that the PA job would be a little more interesting (and probably wouldnt encounter as many aggressive people...) who knows! Im hoping Ill find out soon!!!!!!!0 -

Hi Kelly
Thanks for the reply. I'm a little concerned that because I turned that location down they wont offer me anything else. Your're working in Cosham right??? Glad you are settling in ok. I'm from Pompey too. They offered me Southampton and Eastleigh and i said it was a bit further than i was willing to travel due to parking. They did call back and said there maybe a position in Cosham but will get back to me. Fingers crossed eh??? Who knows we may end up working together. Oh well I guess I'll keep smiling :rotfl:. I did say that if there really is nothing closer to home then I will take Southampton.

Do you have a link at all to the actual page please? I've tried looking on the site but had no luck finding it so far!
i was just looking at it. i can't post a link as i am new, but the info you want is found in 'pay campaign' (left hand side list), then 'pay offer letter 2007-2009' (middle list), then 'appendix 1' (right hand list). hope that helps!
One day I will be a [STRIKE]respectable[/STRIKE] Civil Servant.Until then, I will be a secret MSE poster :shhh:0 -

Hi All,
I think there is "light at the end of the tunnel" and the DWP are "stepping up" with this massive national recruitment campaign.
After applying for an AO position on 23/03/09 (13 weeks ago!) passing the selection tests and two interviews I have finally received the "success letter" to say I have passed at interview stage.
Now, the pre-recruitment checks start. Just hope that I'm not waiting too
long this time to find out, as I have a 4 week notice period to work aswell.
So people, keep positive. "No news, is good news" That's all I kept telling myself for the past 3 months. (even if I did burst into tears tonight when I
got home and saw the envelope on the floor!). I was just so relieved to hear something at long last...
