    Thanks Kath!

    I am so relieved!

I went for my interview on the 6th March. So more than a 3 month wait for a start date.
I also think Newcastle are finally sorting out placements for everyone.

The district manager who gave me the good news on tuesday did say the whole recruitment exercise has been a mass balls up and he had been waiting for the go ahead to contact people to start for 6 weeks.

Hope you all receive your calls soon! X

    Hi,

Sorry if this is unwelcome news, but they have to do a CRB check for every individual application. I have taken and been successful or 4 jobs and asked the same question.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

    Kath.x

Kath, to add to the confusion, I was told the opposite. That they only do one CRB check for all posts.

Who knows which one is right:confused:. So much conflicting info!!

I had my interview 6 March too. Different business area though. But yes, I really hope this means the whole thing is starting to move along.

    Hang on in there!
Even though I have been offered a post I still very much want to see what happens with you all!

Hope you all post some good news soon. We have all been stressing and waiting but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I am sure you will all receive news soon. I got my call at 5.40pm, it will happen when you least expect it!

I have just had a phone call from the checking team, who were chasing my DS (it is a withheld number btw).

I have been told that for my exercise (IRC58751, Park Inn Northampton) they referred the employment history checks to HMRC yesterday, turnaround time is 48 hours.

After this, referees would be contacted if HMRC check does not confirm.

They do seem to be on the case now!

I spoke to Disclosure Scotland this morning.

Good news..they had received my DS form for checking.

Bad news..the entire batch had to be sent back to Newcastle because they should have been counter-signed by someone in HR

    Oh well....the wait continues

I applied for the EO position for Greater Manchester in March and got a letter saying I was successful in april. Since then I have had no contact from the DWP except to check what my notice is. My referee has been contacted but I ve still had no contact about start date etc and its really annoying me! It sounds like there s loads of us in the same boat.

Do the DWP apply for the CRB on your behalf or do they send you a form? I assumed it was the former but have just been told its the latter, meaning I ve been waiting around for 8 weeks thinking my CRB was being processed and the form hasnt even been sent to me. I hadnt heard anything from the DWP to think otherwise. So it looks like i ve been waiting around for nothing and now it will be at least another 2 months before I can start! If this is wrong and the DWP do send off for CRB on your behalf please let me know!!!!

WHat annoys me is the lack of contact and the fact that the number I have for them just rings out constantly. Its really starting to get to me!

    Cheers, Rob.

I spoke to a very helpful man responsible for recrutment in merseyside yesterday and it was implied to me that candidates will be getting calls regarding training day start dates within the next week. There is now a list of 72 and they all will be employed as spaces for training places become avalable.

I am on that list of 72 and was 114 of 120 on the original merit list. So if you received a 'success' letter then i imagine you wll also be on that list and hopefully will receive a call withn the next week

That is good news. I have just noticed on DWP site that they are advertising again for EOs in Merseyside District???

    Hiya!

I filled my CRB form in after the tests, you would have got a load of paperwork to complete to take with you to the interview.

    Hope this helps.
