DWP employment waiting list

HELP NEEDED - I applied for 2 EO jobs in sunderland, 1 for benefit delivery and 1 for social fund loan officer. I had a phone call today offering me a start for for the latter one, although its only part-time (take anything after 6 months unemployed!). I just wondered if by taking this post would it jeopardise my application for the full-time one (currently 25th on list and my 1st choice of hours)???????
Thanks in advance0 -

The full time one - you say you are 25th on list, do I take it you are 25th on the waiting list?0 -

I have been told by people who work for DWP that if you start with them and another job is offered to you within DWP you have to resign from your current job to take up new position. Meaning, just because you're already working for them will not hamper you being offered other positions.
I think you should take this part time position, better than nothing and you're gaining experience all the time whilst waiting for a possible full time position you've applied for.
Just my pennies worth.
Good Luck

Thanks for the quick reply and well wishes Kath, eased my worries a bit!0 -
Well, just phoned Disclosure Scotland and there were problems with how the form had been signed by DWP. But they were sorted so it should be done within 5 working days.
So people waiting and waiting, it's DEFINITELY worth getting in touch with DS.
Exactly what happened to me. I did get the form in less than the 5 working days if that is any consolation? Then got called the next week with a start date0 -

Cheers Suseh. That's a bit of a comfort. Mine will go straight to DWP as that was the address they made us put and apparently DS only issue one copy. Let's hope something else doesn't happen to it en route. I really have lost any but the faintest belief that this job will ever materialise.:idea:0 -

We've had EO's start in our office, and although they can't work on the mainframe computer systems yet, there's plenty of computer-based learning and observation they can do. However, no AO's have yet been started, as it's harder to find them non-computer jobs.
If anyone on the thread is frustrated at waiting, I'd say just try to be patient. It's not just about people. Offices are having to be totally re-designed in places to accommodate bums on seats, etc. Our office is getting 37 new staff, but only about 5 have actually started so far. It's not happening as quickly as envisioned.Fokking Fokk!0 -

That's quite a comfort too. I feel I've been more than patient and have experienced my fair share of c*ck-ups from Newcastle so I just hope it eventually leads somewhere.:idea:0 -
Hey guys.... after reading this thread religiously over the past couple of months I thought I would finally register..
I had my tests on the 26th of April and my interview on the 3rd of May for an AO position in the South East Wales area- Cardiff, Newport, Cwmbran.
I received my successful letter (completing employment checks before we can confirm etc etc) on the 20th of May.
Was just wondering if anybody else on here interviewed for the same area as I did and if you have heard anything yet. I went into the jobcentre today to sign on and although they confirmed that a certain amount of people should be starting soon they were unable to tell me when....Am really hoping to get the call within the next week or so....fingers crossed eh?0
