...........I was going to say, hope your new job doesn't include writing letters to confused pensioners who won't "get" the text spellings....but no doubt you'll be fine once you have sobered up!:D0

Bestofbritish - Grats ! well done.
I thought I had failed but was pleased to find out I passed it. My advice to anyone would be if you mess up at some point just continue and do your best. The interviewers were great and very accomadating. Go for it!whinge intr.v. whinged, whing·ing, whing·es Chiefly British To complain or protest, especially in an annoying or persistent manner.0 -
Destiny have you checked your email? i didn't actually get a letter I received an email. Also I wouldn't read much into repsonse times from what I've read on the forums every district operates completely differently in terms of how they communicate and timescales involved etc.. I think I was just lucky to be in a really well organised district. Just hoping these checks complete soon now. As I really want to start. If you were interviewed in Kennington sounds like we may have been different areas still or something.whinge intr.v. whinged, whing·ing, whing·es Chiefly British To complain or protest, especially in an annoying or persistent manner.0

I start on Monday. What's the dress code there?
kilt? Slippers?
The dressing code...Ive seen people in t shirts, both men and women, and Ive seen people in suits and blazers. It all depends on whether your in touch with customers. As an eo, interviewing people, the dress code is very strict plus remember your on probation period for 6 months. Shirts, blazers, smart shoes ties. Administrators who sign on customers follow a dress code they are smartly dressed with shirt and ties. For women its best if they wear trousers that arent tight (so ive been advised). The way I see it you have different clothes for work;consevative and u must show you fit in. It's a bit of a pain, as clothes that you normally wear have to be combined carefully to go to the JCP. :rotfl:0 -

Blazers?!
Oh dear.
I'm a slightly alternative dresser and like to wear dark colours a lot. I'll see what I can cobble together. I do have a brown suit that I wore to interview, which will hopefully do for now!Bored0 -

Evening all, I am after a bit of advice if anyone can help. After applying for an AO position which closed on the 19th Dec 08 I am finally starting the job tomorrow. It is in a benefit delivery call centre, I am wondering if there is a dress code for this as it is not face to face contact with people. I have come from working in a pharmacy environment for the last 8 years with a uniform so am a bit stuck as to what would be acceptable! Many thanks.Debt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!:jDEBT FREE:j January 2012, took longer but I got there, all by myself, through sheer hard work and pride!0
