DWP employment waiting list

I had an interview May 1st for an AO job and all I've had back is my Disclosure, which I sent to Newcastle and I phoned them up to check they received it, and they have. I haven't had any letter saying i've been successful, or on a waiting list. All I've had is the Disclosure. Does this mean I've been successful or not? Is it normal to hear nothing apart from getting the disclosure back?
Does anyone know if this is normal? I think I'll phone them today to try and find out some more..0 -

Hi Pixie, it doesn't sound normal but it does sound promising.
I would imagine that a letter (either successful or waiting list) should have been on its way to you but got lost in transit somewhere along the line. They wouldn't have done a CRB check on an unsuccessful applicant afterall. I would probably try giving them another call at some point to check your position on the waiting list.. but it sounds like you should get an offer/start date at some point in the near future.
good luck to you xxxxxx0 -
I rang Newcastle on Tuesday there were still waiting for my Disclosure. Rang Disclosure Scotland yesterday couldn't find any trace of me at first but luckily I kept note of the form number. My form has been returned to DWP as someone there forgot to sign it. Starting work on Monday for the NHS but really wanted this job first. Knowing my luck I will get started and then receive a phone call. Off to Job Centre this afternoon to see about claiming allowance for work clothing?? Does anyone know is it means tested??0

Hello
I`ve been following this thread and thought I`d give an update.
I had an interview 5th May, and have just recieved a letter today informing me that I`ve been successful ( position is for AO).They are now undertaking pre-employment checks.
I understand how everyone feels, waiting is awful.
Best of luck to everyone yet to get their confirmation0 -

I rang them, and they seemed surprised I hadn't received a letter so went to ask, and then she said the letters hadn't been sent out yet?! I just want to know so that I can hand in my notice in my current job!0 -

don't hand in your notice yet! you could be waiting ages. It's been nearly 11 weeks since i got my success letter, so i'd have been in trouble if i had given my notice in when i got mine. It's frustrating i know, my employer keeps asking me if i know more about whats happening, but i don't..no one seems to know0 -
I have been following this thread and also received a "success" letter today for an AO position :j - closing date 6 April, tests 30 April, interview 6 May. I haven't called Newcastle for further info yet. I have worked for a different part of DWP in the past but unfortunately could not confirm my previous test scores and had to resit. I applied for Northants/ Leics.0

Well done! Not being funny but you couldn't have been following this thread if you do not know what pre-employment checks entail or how long the checks take. checks include CRB, references, possible HMRC checks and the amount of time differs depending on where you will be working (what district is it?) but generally they take ages!0 -
Is anyone else here for Leics/ Northants? Just curious.0
