Sound like two similar roles. I thought the EO was just the grade. Assumed there were various job options within this grade. I am going in as an Executive Officer...not really sure what i'll be doing!
Not sure what to wear either!Bored0 -
confused....
i'll go and see her later and let you all know what happened...0 -
well i called newcastle this morning as i have not recieved my test scores and i found out i was successful in january so give her my details again so i could get a copy sent out to me i also asked to see if my checks were completed and how long would i have to wait for a job the woman then said you have withdrawn from the exercise NEWS TO MY EARS i have never withdrawn from the exercise and she is going to get in contact with the recruitment person who is dealing with the exercise i am so shocked i could of been in a job only to be told this mistake on their end and now i feel so let down i only spoke to them 3 weeks ago this is so frustrating and upsetting.0

Chantelle that's awful. I don't know what to say except give sympathy. Is it worth speaking to someone senior ? You've got nothing to lose.
I just rang and my checks are going to take another 20 working days. Because of the office move they haven't even been started, despite 20 working days going past already. But at least they still have me on the system. So Ihave *at least* another month to wait.:idea:0 -
Me too Aoki. I'm just sitting here deliberating whether to give them a bell. But I got my success letter 1 May (for the central London AO vacancies, like you) so the 20th working day would be this Friday. I want to use that CRB to get an EO post, which I've been told is possible. I got a letter saying I'd been moved off a waiting list for the EO job and on to pre recruitment checks on 6 May so I'm hoping it won't be too long now. I hope they are doing HMRC checks now and don't start them when they get the CRB back as gawd knows how much further that would delay matters.
But yes, arrghhh.
I sent my CRB forms back on 30th March... when I rang to follow up they said I could assume that the CRB forms were only sent for checking on 14th April and would be 20 working days from then... it is now about 28 working days from 14th April (taking Bank hols into account) and my CRB is still pending... Newcastle don't seem worried and just say they will contact me if there are any problems.
Is there anyway of contacting Disclosure Scotland to chase up my form directly??
EDIT: I have just been on the disclosure Scotland website and there is a recent update on there saying that their turnaround on CRB forms is now only 5 days??? Am not sure if I am reading that right as it sounds too good to be true... especially as I have been waiting for well over a month now..0 -

Aww lili and Chantelle that is awful,
Good luck lili... I hope they can fast track you through the system... or hope you find something even better in the mean time.

OK I am really upset now.. I have just got through to Disclosure scotland and found out they returned my form back in April as there was problem with address history apparently... not sure what the problem was but i have phoned DWP on several occasions since then and they continually say it is pending and would ring if there was a problem.. grrrrr!
So I have just rang DWP again and there is a really bad connection on their phones but someone is supposed to be phoning me back to chase it all up..
I really hope they phone back but this has definitely made me think that a job with the DWP is distant dream for me and I'll put more effort into looking elsewhere.
It's a shame really as I'm sure with me on their team I could straighten the whole system out LOL!!0 -

Hi Chi Chi,
I'm waiting on the phone call also
Your point about the disclosure Scotland timeframe being 5 days is spot on. Mine was sent by DWP and I recieved the certificate in 4 working days. Emailed it to Newcastle and here I am just over 2 weeks later, hanging around waiting for progress.
Best of luck to all.

Oh gosh Lilli! I'm assuming it's the same for me then. What number did you ring? I wish I could speak to someone a bit helpful!
I've been to a few interviews since, and if I get any of the jobs I'm not sure whether to take them, or wait for the AO position.0 -

Hi Aoki. The person I spoke to is dealing with the EO vacancy so she wouldn't know much about the AO ones. But she told me my file had been passed to the checking team, who had delays because of the office move, so yes I guess the same will be true for you.
I'm still in the relatively fortunate position of having some money left to live on. If I don't get a posting until, say, August (which isn't so far-fetched), things will be very tight indeed.:idea:0
