Where abouts will you be working?
I start on June 1st and have had a letter confirming it. Not much in it really, just confirmation of start time, who I should report to and some info about pensions.
Exactly the same here!
Had verbal confirmation then a follow up letter two days later.
I too start 1st June in EO role.
Congrats:beer:0 -

Ohhhh frustration!
Finally got through to someone today. Told her it has been more then 20 days since I got my success letter. The least she could have done was check if my CRB had come through! But, I get the same response as always "You'll be contacted".

Me too Aoki. I'm just sitting here deliberating whether to give them a bell. But I got my success letter 1 May (for the central London AO vacancies, like you) so the 20th working day would be this Friday. I want to use that CRB to get an EO post, which I've been told is possible. I got a letter saying I'd been moved off a waiting list for the EO job and on to pre recruitment checks on 6 May so I'm hoping it won't be too long now. I hope they are doing HMRC checks now and don't start them when they get the CRB back as gawd knows how much further that would delay matters.
But yes, arrghhh.:idea:0 -
Just called the Jobcentre about the ADF, they set up a meeting with a personal adviser for me and told me to get quotes for clothes that I need and a quote from Nexus for my bus pass. The shops that they have a partnership with are Dorothy Perkins and Bon Marche - for women, don't know which shops for men.
I can't wait to start next week, even though it's just training next week. The new Resource and Advice Centres will be based in city centres so that they are easily accessible to the public so should be easy for me to get to (15 mins for Jarrow, an hour for Washington and an hour and 15 for Houghton Le Spring - approx) No doubt I will be buying a car soon as it only takes 20 mins by car to get to Washington and 24 to Houghton - according the the AA Route Planner!
Is there nobody else that's going to be based at a Resource and Advice Centre like me????0 -

Yes I got my success letter on the 1st also. Maybe it does work in working day terms and excludes weekends then.
Oh wow, an EO post would be even better. Good luck with that!
I guess it just would be nice to know what's happening, or speak to someone useful. I can't seem to get a hold of the recruitment team employee who sent me the success letter, apparently he is on leave.0 -
It took 2 months from my success letter to offer me a start date for AO London post.
Good Luck, hope you all get your start dates soon.0 -

Oh it definitely IS 20 working days. Effectively a month. So by my reckoning this time next week would be nearer the mark for getting it back.
The EO post I was interviewed for 6 March but only got off the waiting list 6 May so I'm hoping that the CRB paperwork for the AO post can be used for the EO checks. Apparently it can be. I emailed the HR officer for the EO post with cross-reference details so will give it til next Monday before I ring again, by whixh time CRB shouldbe back.
In addition, though, I am still waiting for (a) the results of another AO interview (Lambeth, Southwark and Wandsworth) held on 28 April and (b) an interview slot for an EO drafter post applied for some weeks ago. If they would just post me to the EO job I apparently have, I wouldn't care about them.:idea:0 -

How did they get the wrong details?!
Best of luck, but I do advise you to look elsewhere too!
My refs were not contacted either. Reading on here they seem to use other methods to check your employment history. This is good as my old job did not give references and my line manager was sacked a few months ago. Oh and the same advice to look for other jobs too.0 -
Hi vasia,
I am in the same position as you...I was offered job 15th May over the phone and told that I start on 1st June at 9am for EO post, the lady told me that I would receive a letter with info on who to report to, along with details of job etc....
I am still waiting for the letter, I just hope it comes before Monday. I will just turn up on the day if I do not receive letter and hope for the best!!
It would be nice to know how you got on today on your first day of work!!
Let me know..
I was made redundant in December and I cant tell you all how pleased I am to have got this job...
:j
I got a call from the jobcentre I will starting at saying there is a good chance the confirmation letter will not arrive before I start. Just told to turn up on the day at 9.30 and told where the staff entrance is. If I had not had the call or the letter I would have just turned up too. Waited a long time for this job so nothing would have stopped me0
