good luck to those like myself who have been told they will have their results for the heo position in the next week.

i will be very surprised if i have passed it, but, its been a wait of nearly ten months with all the tests and interviews for it and i just want to know now one way or the other.

Hello to everyone!I was offered my starting date a week ago, so I'm bound to start on Tuesday; BUT, I have only been told the address of the JC Ill be working and although I was told I'd receive a confirmation letter, nothing has arrived. I dont even know what time I have to be there, tomorrow is Bank holiday, I havent even been told what position it is, I assume it is eo since I wasnt on the waititng list for this one, I dont know who Im meeting, don't know a thing. Oh Im getting really low with this. Should I just show up being ignorant in my new job on my first day? It's like ...ing around, how embarassing.

    Oh how awful.

I got a call from my jobcentre saying I probably would not get a confirmation letter before I started due to Newcastle being so snowed under. They told me just to turn up on the day and that my details were all in the system.

If I was you I would go to the jobcentre just before 9. Are you the only new start on that day?
  • I would say just turn up at the Centre and hope your details are already there. I was given a time of 9.30am but I'd say be there at 9am to be on the safe side.

Your right, I think I will show up just like that. Thank you. Ill try to reach them tomorrow although it's a Bank holiday you never know. It' s so frustrating, adds to the stress of the first day. I wish I knew if Im the only new start on that day. The JC is in Leicester.

    Hi,
Anyone else heard back about positions in the Cambridge area? I have been put on the waiting list, am i right in saying they still do the crb checks etc? How do you find out what position on the list you are and does anyone know the likely hood of actually getting a position from the waiting list?
  • Hello!

Found out that they contacted one of my references on Friday and it was sent back immediately to which the personal reference ( a friend of the family) got an email saying thanks for the quick reply. Im assuming that means that my CRB check is done and that my references should nearly be done now so Im hoping I can now start my position fairly soon...unless thats tempting fate. Got my success letter one week ago, so Im impressed they got on the case that quickly after the stories Ive heard on here, but I guess it could slow down again!!! x

Hey guys i posted on here about a week ago. I've been reading loads of the comments on here, and well done to everyone getting their start dates!
I have just looked at my paperwork and so far this is what's happened
26 feb 09- selection test and told successful on day
    4 Mar 09- Interview
13 Mar 09- Success letter (no mention of waiting list)
    10 weeks on (22 May)...still not heard anything :(
I've phoned a few times, i've been told my checks are done, CRB back etc just wondering if anyone else has been waiting this long? I understand they're really busy, i just want to know what's going on!

Hi there I am in a similar position to you -
    28th Feb tests and Interview
16th March success letter with waiting list
23rd March told I am pulled off list for pre- recruitment checks
I have chased a couple of times to see what stage they are at - no change! I was told that nobody from the recruitment excercise on 28th Feb in Cornwall have bee reruited yet.
    Very frustrating

Very frustrating indeed, with the nerves not ending even the day before the first day at work. No confirmation letter, no news, Ill just show up just like that tomorrow and what really annoys me is that bad coordination never ends!I'm now not bothered about my first day, but really about how Im going to look when I dont even know anything about the position itself. Has anybody been in the same position?
