DWP employment waiting list
Comments

Hey, I hadn't phoned up to ask what position I was in on the merit list but today, 4 weeks exactly since I received my success letter I got a phone call from my old employer asking me for permission to give a reference. annoyingly they wouldn't give it over the phone without asking me first so now I'll have to wait over the bank holiday until the dwp call them again, but i hear that asking for references is one of the last things the dwp does? so hopefully i could expect to hear back within a week or so?0

I got a phone call today with a start date - 1st June!! :T I'm going to be based in THREE different Resource and Advice Centres, my travel expenses will be paid for so that's OK. I will be offering employment advice to white collar workers wanting to get back in to work. It's a 18 month contract as advertised.
Brief timeline of my experience:
Interview and assessment: 1st April
Success letter: 10th April
CRB returned to me: 8th May I think
Is there anyone else out there who are going to be based in resource centres as opposed to jobcentre? Please share your experience if so! I'm really happy and excited!! I'm training for 2 weeks.0 -
Oh the position is EO by the way.0

I admit to being thoroughly confused so apologies if this question has been answered before. But...is that how you know your CRB has been done? If a copy is sent to you?
For the EO post I am now apparently undergoing checks for, I didn't fill out a CRB on the day and wasn't sent one through the post. I rang and asked that a copy I did fill in (for an AO interview) be used. This was apparently OK, so I emailed the cross reference numbers to my HR officer. Heard nowt since.:idea:0 -

Well done. Can I rub your sleeve for luck? I am beginning to think I will never get *the phone call*. It's like a desert mirage. Just as I seem to get near to it, it disappears.:idea:0 -

Thank youuuuu!!! I'm so happy. It's an EO position. But I can't remember what the salary is for the job!! It's either 19,500 or 21,000. Anyway, they said they would outline all that in the letter they're going to send me.
Lili, it depends what address you put on your CRB form, I put a Newcastle address, so it got sent straight there and I just got a copy. If I put my address I would have had to send it to them and that would have taken longer.
Someone mentioned here earlier that they got money for clothes when they got a new job through JSA?? I wonder if I can get that??0 -

No probs - hope you enjoy your new job!
Newly advertised jobs with DWP show higher salarys (are the goverment paying more for DWP people in current economic climate ?? -- hrmm seems so!)
(check new job vacancies on DWP website)
Money for clothes through JSA? Huh? Who said that? Ask your line manager about it and let us know here on MSE!
Good news for me = Disclosure Scotland sent off my CRB back to DWP and hopefully I should get a copy by next week from DWP! - Things are moving forward!!0
